Sure, it’s commonly used in totally normal sentences like, “The Romulan frigate was transporting dilithium ore when it was attacked by a Klingon warship.”

We love Riley!
For those following along at home: this bill died in the Senate yesterday, and the House did not vote on it.
I would not be surprised if there was a bill in the House about this next year.
I expect to have more conversations about this with stakeholders and colleagues before the vote, with topics including whether this is expected to pass as is or whether there would be a conference committee between the House and Senate.
My understanding is that the City has numerous concerns, many of which involve losing much of the SUP leverage for things like the affordable housing trust fund, stormwater impacts, etc. This bill is really meant to push places that haven’t done good stuff like ALX has, but it still impacts ALX.
This is vulgar. When to come out to one’s family is one of the most important decisions an LGBTQ person can make. No one, no matter their beliefs or their position, has the right to make that determination for someone else.
This will lead to innocent kids being harmed, and some may even die.
There is no way this company will be able to absorb and pay down the $78 billion in debt caused by this merger. Things are gonna start getting cut up and sold off within a year.
Wait, is this the CD 8 candidate announcement?!
Tim and Eva canvassing with lit that says Vote YES by April 21st to level the playing field
Canvassing with the queen — vote YES on the redistricting referendum by April 21! early voting starts March 6. And on the same ballot make sure to vote @sandymarks.bsky.social to keep our council seat 🔵
I don't think enhancing productivity inherently means you are replacing human labor, because in many cases you're taking about things that simply wouldn't be done otherwise or as thoroughly. More work is being done, and in this case more value is likely being created, than otherwise would have been.
These are all smart ways to use AI to enhance a person's productivity as opposed to replace human labor with a software program.
To any reporter covering the targeting of Anthropic by the Trump Administration (and OpenAI’s shameful capitulation), please remember:
There is no such thing as the Department of War, and no position titled Secretary of War.
Do not use these made up terms that have no basis in fact or law.
Not only is Claude by far the best AI model (and the Mac app is great), the company actually has some important principles about the usage of its tools.
MAGA is an anti-American movement in part because its first impulse when a coporation says "no" is to try to destroy the company. Despicable.
There are three candidates, but only one choice for anyone who cares about maintaining our City's progress on important issues like housing and climate.
Please join me in voting for Sandy Marks for City Council ( @sandymarks.bsky.social ) on or before April 21.
Great things are possible through upzoning and single-stair reform

Claude / Anthropic. No question.

Had to go to Richmond and confirm - @kirkmcpike.bsky.social is indeed representing us in the House now!
A base budget proposal with no tax increase in this environment is quite at accomplishment. The budget folks in Alexandria are some of the best in the business.
An organized unsubscribe campaign is targeting The Alexandria Brief over Braddock Road coverage. This is what happens when people encounter actual journalism instead of advocacy. Fair coverage isn't biased just because you disagree with the outcome.
She won't believe you until it happens, but you just have to reassure her that she will end up loving most of these Ferengi.
Even as a kid, it seemed clear to me that Jessica Fletcher was actually committing all those murders herself and using her charisma and intelligence to bluster innocent people into confessing. But yes, she's also a confident cyclist.
In 2019, I volunteered to knock doors in Dan’s first campaign for the House of Delegates. Happy to stand with him now as he runs for Congress in 2026!
Delegate McPike Congratulates Sandy Marks: “Congratulations to my friend Sandy Marks on winning the Democratic firehouse primary for City Council! As someone who understands what an honor it is to serve our community on the Council, I know that Sandy has the skills, knowledge, and values she will need to succeed in this role. “I also want to thank Tim, Roberto, Charles, and Cesar for running, and for their commitment to our city, our party, and our cause. I know they will continue to work to make Alexandria an even better place tomorrow than it is today. “On April 21, voters across Virginia will go to the polls to protect American democracy by leveling the playing field in the race to control Congress. Between now and then, I will work tirelessly to turn out the voters we need in Alexandria to pass the redistricting referendum — and to elect Sandy Marks, because we need her voice and her leadership on our Council.”
Congratulations to @sandymarks.bsky.social — you will be a great member of the Alexandria City Council!x
Kirk McPike with Roberto Gomez, Tim Laderach and Sandy Marks.
Hey, Alexandria! I ran into some great people at the polls today. Get out and vote before 7pm at Chick Armstrong Rec Center or Beatley Library!
It was great to see you and to catch up! I’m glad you were able to come down for @ebpforva.bsky.social’s swearing in. We’re all lucky to have her as our Senator!
Updated candidate responses: During the Alexandria Federation of Civic Associations candidate forum (2/18/26), Cesar Madison Tapia, Charles Sumpter and Roberto Gomez withdrew their support from Braddock Rd Complete Streets project. Sandy Marks and Tim Laderach affirmed their support for the project.
As someone who uses them frequently, I can say that I often see other cyclists in those lanes. In fact, I’ve been in a bike lane traffic jam or two going westbound on Seminary. If drivers don’t notice this increased number of cyclists… well, that’s part of why we have those lanes now.
