I've been reading Tolkien's letters, and I came across this today in letter 61. It seemed sadly relevant.

So ever since chemo, my sweat smells different, like in a bad way. So that's fun. It's been two months since I last took chemo, so I hope this goes away eventually, because DAMN.

First CT Scan post treatment today. Getting my first glimpse of what this is going to feel like every 6 months for the next 5 years. Spoiler: it feels bad. Today we find out if the chemo did its job.

Got my genetic tests back today and relieved to hear that I don't have any genetic markers that make me more prone to cancer. I really didn't want to be a mutant whose mutant power was just "cancer."

4 days of chemo pills left. I am so close to being done with this phase of things. Side effects this time around are worse: the general fatigue, and my whole mouth just feels weird, and I am always have a weird metallic taste, but I can do this. Home stretch. Bring it on Let's fucking go.

Walking into 2026 like
Yesterday was my final chemo infusion. I'm not totally done with treatment yet. I have two weeks of pills to go, and the next few days I'll be feeling pretty rough, but damn it felt good to ring that bell.
The finish line is in sight.
Nooooo! I got sent to Whamhalla during freaking chemo! That just feels like adding insult to injury!
Halfway through my last chemo infusion. Let's fucking go.

That all makes a ton of sense. Yeah, once I found out he wasn't real, I did start to notice how limited the shots of Darwin were (I was in the third season at the time).
I somehow got through high school, then college as an English major, then 14 years as an English teacher without reading Hamlet. Not sure how that even happened.
