Meanwhile, as an Australian who lived in the north east, they couldn't understand a word I said when I was fresh off the boat.

Why wouldn't you just use the Stata putdocx commands to automatically export the results? I have clinical trial progress reports that automatically generate with text, tables, graphs, formatted headings, page numbers, etc. each time I export from REDCap.

Submission to the Journal of #Glaucoma requires consultation with a statistical expert. Seems positive but the message only appears at the submission stage, not within author instructions - perhaps too late? Will be interesting to see if this helps improve the standard of conduct and reporting.

Hard disagree. How are the kids meant to use their new bikes and togs from Santa if it's snowing?

That makes sense. I just worry about the impact on power given that it's difficult to recruit, that's why we chose rate of change to start with.

Is this still valid if the estimand of interest is rate of change from baseline per year? I.e., the interaction between tx and time is coefficient of interest. I guess it is because we are assuming that the rate is constant?

But first authors are often students who move to other institutions and change emails. As someone who has to email corresponding authors for meta-analyses, I don't see the problem with them being a middle or senior author.

MPhil at UOM get a score averaged from 2 reviewers and don't need to resubmit to address comments. A reviewer can adjust their mark after seeing the other reviewer's mark. 70% is needed to pass. I wonder if this is to assist in assessing eligibility for PhD.

It is difficult to find prospective comparative studies on many surgical interventions. I am working on a similar systematic review right now. Besides the issues relating to how problematic single-armed pre-post studies are, does anyone have any good references on when not to pool estimates?

Someone on here recently used a term like "paper laundering" when low quality evidence is included in meta-analyses. I'm pretty sure I am guilty of that here. In retrospect, perhaps we could have presented individual study estimates without a pooled estimate. >
