When he says “hit it, Joe”, I don’t think first time viewers are going to be prepared for just how hard Joe hits it.
Dear friends,
As have become a habit, I mark each #autumnequinox by sharing a small poem by Xin Qiji. I also start my translation cycle of Chinese and Japanese poems and prose that mark the twenty-four lunisolar micro-seasons. Translation notes blogged here:

Kaiju press conference
I’m a firm believer that with SHIN GODZILLA returning to theaters, Toho should also re-release the figurines of the kaiju giving apologetic press conferences.
Unsurprisingly, I agree (while being sorry about all the destruction)
when they close it all up, I do believe this will go down as the funniest video on the internet

(my translation; updated slightly from one I posted a couple months ago)
Norway defeated England in a World Cup qualifier in Oslo on September 9, 1981. Which led to this—the greatest call in sports broadcasting history.
Kick rocks, Maggie Thatcher.
Ah, interesting! Didn't know this was an established term - though the Proust passage reads more like a loose comparison to me
your suggestion is more interesting, but I don't think he actually refers to Chinese literature here - I'd say he just compares the formal intricacy of Bergotte's works to Chinese (or Chinese inspired) art objects - in the original it's "chinoiseries de forme", so not really puzzles
A newspaper article from 1914 titled "On écoute aux fenêtres le cours de M. Bergson". There are black and white photos of crowds gathering around the entrance of the building where Bergson lectures and two men can be seen on the window ledge outside trying to look in. There is also a photo of Bergson in a top hat, suit, coat walking with a cane
19. In the early 1900s, Bergson's lectures at the Collège de France became so popular that people would climb up the side of the building to listen in and it was suggested that his lectures be moved to the grand amphitheatre of the Sorbonne or even the Garnier Opera. We have photographic evidence
A black and white photo of Henri Bergson around age 50 wearing a massive black bowler hat. He has a slim face, thick eyebrows and a small moustache. The black and white photo contrasts with a light blue background
1 like = 1 interesting, possibly little-known, fact about French philosopher Henri Bergson
One of my favorite poems since childhood, and a poem I share every #autumnequinox.
By the 12thc warrior poet Xin Qiji 辛棄疾, sidelined during peacetime, demoted, drifting through a decade of minor posts in remote lands.
Poetry, then, is that which is left unsaid.
“My, what a cool and lovely autumn.”
He's had enough.
