Oh I’m already deep in the Synology ecosystem - been eyeing the RS1221+ for my next upgrade (because apparently 42TB of storage isn’t enough 🥴)
Not at all! There’s actually little to no fan noise - the only audible bit is the spinning rust in the NAS, and that’s about the volume (and sound) of a boiling pot of water. Turn on any music or TV and it’s immediately drowned out.
Not at all! This is actually in my home office - the loudest bit by far is the spinning HDDs (sounds a bit like water boiling actually) but no fan noise to speak of. I like to think it doubles as a white noise generator 😉
it’s a rack from gearhivestudioracks.com! came with all holes pre-drilled and just had to assemble it myself with a screwdriver
