Dorks gives those weebs at Atlus praise for their over-indulgent UI where anime characters spin around and shit while I'm just trying to change the volume.
Bungie should get that praise too with MARATHON's often-overwhelming UI.
I've always enjoyed when Bungie gets to do its weird-ass-sci-fi schtick.
I liked it in the original Marathon games, in Destiny, when it managed to peek through in Halo. And I like it in the new Marathon.
I'm not "rooting for" a corporation.
What I'm hoping is that this sets a legal precedent for others to follow.

My read is that the companies will get the refunds regardless.
However, Nintendo's move here to basically make this formal. Make it written. And make SURE they get paid. Givse the current Shithead Admin less formal grounds to flake on the refund.

This week's episode of Unpacked from @nickjcal.bsky.social takes a look at Marathon and how the game will most likely be a test of people's patience... something that seems to be lacking in a lot of the gaming space these days.
The forced hate on this game has been kind of a sight to behold, but whatever, it's routine at this point in online spaces.
This week I'm more focused on how Marathon is a game that does require you spend some time learning how everything works... and that requires patience.
Even if it takes years, we have to bring EVERYONE who made this happen to justice. No moving on, no letting this go.
Revenge is good enough motivation for me personally, but the nobler and important reason is to ensure that anyone who thinks of doing this again knows they’ll rot in prison for it.
