They didn't really say why. Maybe it's because they contracted an outside copy editor/typesetter and they didn't actually have the raw InDesign file, just the finished PDF the contractor gave them that they can't easily change. But that's just a guess.

Question: do you know if your publisher actually corrects this stuff for future editions if noticed?

I've edited about half a dozen books for a certain academic press. At one point I tried to send them a few corrections for the paperback edition of one of them. They said they couldn't take them.

I've been running gdcparties.com for a few years now. Some shitty company BlueberryAI decided they'd just take all the source code for the work I've done and reskin it, advertising it as their own. Jokes on them...it was still linked to my events spreadsheet, and now their website looks like this πŸ˜‰

My dad was always harping on the Peter Principle when I was growing up, but it took me a while to understand its importance and how much it explains. Yet I think most people have never heard of it.

I'm still fairly early on in the Leon back half of the game. As a huge OG RE4 devotee who also enjoyed RE2R, RE8, and RE4R, I've been surprised to find the gameplay a bit flabby. They seem to have been more interested in creating a cinematic experience than tight gameplay. Looks great, plays... OK.

Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC The video-game publisher no longer plans to put out PC ports of PlayStation games such as β€˜Ghost of Yotei’

NEW: Sony no longer plans to release PlayStation games on PC, sources tell Bloomberg News, a major shift in strategy that sees the console maker returning to exclusivity after six years of flirting with multiplatform.

Ghost of Yotei and Saros are not coming to PC. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I've gotten exactly *one* of these fake book club emails. I'm surprised I got any at all considering I write *academic nonfiction*.

So I have no difficulty believing that authors who write popular fiction have it exponentially worse.

"Die in a fucking fire," indeed.

I like the brazenness of that one, asking for money right up front. The last one I got didn't do that, they just ended with "If this is of interest, I would be happy to share more details about our format." The request for money would have only come if I was naive enough to reply.

Never watched a ton of it (though have seen all of Columbo), but I do love Angela Lansbury. She had roles in two important movies from my childhood: The Last Unicorn (voice), and The Court Jester (1955)... both classics.

Oh man, bummer. His Hyperion books and Endymion books are some of my favorite sci-fi. Also watched the Terror though did not read the book. And I've got more of his books on my shelf that I've never gotten around to: Olympos, Ilium, Black Hills. I really need to read those at some point. RIP...

The original 2005 RE4 is maybe my favorite game ever and Capcom has been killing it with the recent entries. Glad to hear RE9 lives up to the hype, I'm looking forward to diving in soon.

It also features James Cromwell, who I've always liked. Dude is almost always a supporting actor, but he does have one lead role I know of in Still Mine (2012), quite a good little film itself.

Department of Redundancy Department, how may we aid in helping you? ;-)

Anyway, I feel you. I am constantly making small typos and other little errors like that. It's part of why I still enjoy forums, typically you can go back and fix that stuff. No post edit on Blue Sky can be painful...

If you're going to use one I guess best practice is to have it on a dedicated circuit with nothing else plugged in.

I learned recently that a lot of electricians consider space heaters extremely hazardous and just a bad idea in general. Apparently the big issues come when people plug them into circuits that aren't rated for them, and the outlets/wiring start to melt and/or catch fire.

It's not my personal favorite but I'd never say it's bad, and really you can make an argument for any one of them being the best, they all have their strengths.

Gotta say, when I first saw this I thought, "When I reach that boss, I'm gonna keep restarting until I get the Yasakani I want." Then I realized you get them from by far the hardest boss encounter in the game! So I ended up being happy to just get the win. The broken Todo clan +life blessing helped.

Heathen. If you want ketchup on your dog, that's fine, but omitting mustard is just wrong. Onions and sauerkraut optional.
