Balcony solar is taking state legislatures byΒ storm
In more than half of U.S. states, Republican and Democratic lawmakers have introduced legislation that would boost adoption of DIY solar systems.
Only Utah has a law, passed in March 2025, that explicitly allows residents to plug DIY solar panels. Are coal lobbying groups preventing such legislation being introduced in Kentucky?
Ironically, Utah's coal industry plays a vital role in the state's economy.

One of the numerous irritating things about the US are that we can't get anywhere in the form of public transit/service bc boomers will complain about their tax dollars. Or how they'll have to pay more. Truly the murder of empathy or compassion. And frankly rooted in racism too. But they don't want

Lexington Bike/Ped Collisions 2025
An interactive map of all reported 2025 bike and pedestrian
collisions in Lexington, KY
A side project I've been working on: A map of bike and pedestrian collisions in Lexington, KY in 2025: projects.blakeshall.com/bike-ped/ind...
Still needs polish, but once I have the design pinned down, I plan on adding more years.

How interesting is it that a majority of GOP legislators are, in lock step with the President, so willing to reject or ignore the decision of a court they have worked so diligently to stack in their favor?

The worldβs biggest consumers of electricity are hidden in plain sight
Thereβs an industry that consumes even more power than many tech giants, and it has largely escaped the same scrutiny: suppliers of industrial gases.
Lindeβs electricity use in 2024 exceeded that of Alphabet Inc.βs Google and Samsung Electronics Co. as well as oil giant TotalEnergies SE, while the power use of Air Liquide and Air Products was comparable to that of Shell PLC. and Microsoft Corp.

Trump to Withhold $18 Billion for New York-Area Transit Projects
This sort of petty nonsense from the lawless goon we have as a president is why I believe we need to find a way to withhold funds from the federal government until there is more fiscal accountability.

@chrismoise.ca,
Rather than disabling quote posts, consider why you were ratioed and reflect on the underlying issue.
Acknowledging the mistake and exploring actual, equitable solutions like protected bike infrastructure would address the root cause of this sidewalk symptom.

Toronto City Councillor Chris Moise kneels on a city sidewalk, using a yellow tool to install a circular decal that reads "PLEASE WALK YOUR BIKE OR SCOOTER" with an image of a person walking a bike. Two additional images show the decal in place and Moise standing nearby. The post announces the installation of these decals across Ward 13 to improve pedestrian safety in high-traffic areas.
The best way for my councillor @chrismoise.ca to discourage folks riding a bike or scooter from doing so on our sidewalks is to do more to install an expansive and well-connected bike network throughout our ward and beyond.
These decals, like blocking replies and quote posts, are not a good look.
