I can relate to it. It requires a lot of self-discipline. Nice to meet you and happy to connect.
Collecting is a journey, not a destination. Itβs about the pieces that make you stop and think.
Which NFT in your collection still makes you stop and look today? Drop a link or a screenshot below! π
5/ Look beyond the hype
Don't chase limited editions or trending PFPs simply because they're scarce or popular. The rarest piece means nothing if it doesn't speak to you. Build a collection that reflects your taste, not market speculation.
4/ Reject the asset mindset
Refuse to treat art purely as an investment vehicle. Crypto-art emerged from a desire to democratize creativity and challenge traditional gatekeepers. Honor that ethos. Collect to support artists and preserve culture, not to flip for profit.
3/ Display your digital art
Your NFT art deserves more than being hidden in the depths of your crypto wallet. Find creative ways to display it. Tools like @whitewallsapp can help you showcase your collection beautifully.
Art hidden is art wasted.

2/ Collect what resonates
The most important criterion is simple: does this work speak to you? Your collection should bring joy, provoke thought, or stir emotion. If it doesn't move you, don't collect it.

1/ Build depth through diversity
Cultivate an extensive collection by exploring different genresβphotography, glitch art, and generative works. Let curiosity guide your curation, not conformity.
Here is my philosophy and approach to building a meaningful collection in five principles:
I've navigated this space since 2021 as both artist and collector. My NFT collection spans over 2,000 pieces across Tezos and Base, alongside a curated selection of physical artworks and photobooks (which I consider its own art form).
Many artists struggle to sustain themselves during this downturn. However, this downturn has a silver lining: it has filtered out the speculators, leaving behind genuine collectors driven by culture rather than by hype.
Web3 democratized art. It stripped away the gatekeepers, making collecting accessible to everyone. Despite the technical hurdles, it is a movement that speaks directly to the people. Yet todayβs reality is sobering: The NFT and crypto markets have contracted sharply.
How to Collect NFTs When No One's Watching
The NFT hype has faded, but the art movement is just beginning. After collecting over 2,000 NFTs since 2021, I've realized many misunderstand Web3 art market.
Hereβs my 5-step blueprint for building a meaningful collection π§΅
