Not to mention that the publisher who owned *that* publisher is now filing for insolvency. What a day to be alive!
I can only share this piece of info I found since it's public knowledge. But I have no idea what any of it means.

Thinking about how much human potential gets wasted with projects being canceled causes me eternal grief.
Like what the actual fuck
Today I learned that the game I spent 1 year writing as a Narrative Director was pulled from Steam by the publisher and might never come out for reasons I don't know.
I departed from the team a year ago after completing my work, and now they can't tell me bc NDA.
My legs are jelly
I'd really like to see Steam make changes to their 30% platform fee. I understand they have no incentive to do so, but even a small change to say, the first $100k of gross revenue would make a massive difference to indie developers.
Maybe leave links to the app?
I shit you not, it worked
My favorite cheap trick is using "loud" words to make sure the reader is paying attention - like SNAP!
This is from The Boys pilot:
And here's LOST (1x12) for you.
I remember seeing their script for cold open of S2, and it literally said something like "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Season 2" -- IN THE SCRIPT! 😄
So yeah, scripts don't have to be boring.
One of the big revelations of 2025 was that a script/story doc can - and should - not only be interesting for the target audience, but also engage the team who uses them (in both TV & games); opposed to being just... technical.
For example, look how Better Call Saul is leading reader's attention:
aaand this goes straight to our lore!
WORKING ON A GAME PITCH?
I help teams prep & rehearse their pitches.
I pitched the The X-Files game to FOX as my 1st project - and got it signed 10 years ago.
I also worked on the receiving end as a Head of Game Publishing reading through 300+ pitches every month.

This bullshittery with the doctors got so bad I chose ChatGPT to diagnose me based on all the symptoms - and it turned out to be correct. Twice.
(typical disclaimer that I wouldn't advise self-diagnosing to anyone but it literally saved my life last time)
I've been told the same thing for over 10 years by different doctors, on different occasions. And 99% of the time it was something else - like a real disease they didn't put effort into diagnosing. Stress was just a backdrop for lower immunity.
at least they'll know it wasn't chatgpt
Tough time to be a writer. Every time I try to invent an unimaginable crime for my in-game billionaires and CEOs - turns out they did it already.
This looks sick! Never heard about it
Can't even use satire anymore, because satire suggests some level of exaggeration.

I really like the contrast between different levels of detail (body vs face)!
Yeah
Terror is just a tool for making profit in a more efficient way.

Yakuza Like a Dragon has a mini game "Capture Sickos". No hate to the game, actually. Just the world context is not the best rn
Damn, Yakuza. You didn't warn me it's THAT island!!!
After 9+ years at ustwo games I have unfortunately been made redundant.
