Legislation related to 287(g) agreements moves from the House to the Senate for consideration, and student safety and privacy bills move from the Senate to the House. The fight for safety, dignity, fairness, and protection continues.

We Are CASA will keep fighting to pass the Virginia Community Safety and Trust Act so every corner of the Commonwealth reflects dignity, trust, and protection.
Governor Spanberger ended Virginia’s state law enforcement and state agencies’ participation in 287(g) agreements, which deputized them to act as federal immigration agents.
This victory belongs to our immigrant communities whose bravery made it possible.

CASA applauds the federal court's decision to block the unlawful termination of TPS for Haiti. This ruling protects over 350,000 Haitian neighbors and friends from being forced back to danger. It is a victory for justice and for keeping families together.

🦋 Emilia, a CASA member, spoke about her beloved son Elias who was taken by ICE a mile away from a life saving dialysis appointment. He later passed away.
🦋 Mohamed shared his mom’s story: Rabbiatu Kuyateh, a Maryland grandmother and nurse, was deported by ICE to a third country and torn away from her family.
The #BraveOfUS say: invest in families, not fear. Congress must stop funding ICE and DHS. Invest in social services, healthcare, and just housing for families, not violence and cruelty.
