100% this. While I definitely know a handful of phone numbers from pre-cell phones, I didn't memorize the numbers as often as the shape the numbers made on the keypad. Lots of muscle memory reinforcement.

A diagram of the bones and (some) deep muscles of the hand and forearm. AI says that we only have four digits. It’s also identified a tendon as the median nerve, another tendon as the ulnar nerve, among other issues.
An AI generated diagram of the muscles of the neck. It hallucinated the “ennocleidomasid” muscle, and the “anterior scalpalin muscle”.
An AI generated diagram of the muscles of the lateral thigh. It says that the gluteus Maximus (the big juicy butt muscle) is on the anterior side. It also points to the quadriceps muscle and says “attattment”. It also says that the same structure is the tibia AND the deep fascia of the leg.
An AI generated diagram of the bones of the hand and forearm. This time AI says we have 6 digits. It also says that the radius is the ulnar artery. Among other many issues.
A student on TikTok has been documenting her journey with a professor who “wrote” the anatomy textbook and it’s all a bunch of AI hallucinations.
She’s saying that, understandably, the students are doing super poorly!
Behold what we’re teaching the healthcare professionals of tomorrow:
I agree with everyone saying e, but c (and the receipt) makes sense if you can choose the protein you want to be fried and covered in curry.
Undone by an order of 18,000 cups of water.
Chef's kiss, no notes.
Can confirm this email is authentic — and about nothing in it is true.
Social Security income is still taxed. This bill does nothing to change that.
It’s willful disinformation on the part of SSA. It’s a lie.
“It has become clear that our journey towards being carbon negative is a marathon, not a sprint.” — Microsoft
Lol; since 2020 Microsoft’s total emissions have increased by 23.4%! What’s the race where you end up behind the start line?
8 panel comic Panel 1: Yellow guy is working on a laptop in the background. In the foreground is a Brand Manager. Yellow Guy: “Sir, shall I put up our rainbow profile picture?” Panel 2: Brand Manger snaps his head round and hisses “Cool your jets, Eugene. I’m checking the Profitometer” Panel 3: Gonna do my best to explain this. We see The Profitometer. A huge machine that whirs and ticks. A digital display at the top of the machine reads “Supporting Pride equals”Beneath this display is a huge gauge with “Max Loss” on the left and “Max profit” on the right. There is a needle that is pointing exactly half way between the two extremes. Panel 4: Close up on Brand Manager’s face. His teeth are gritted. Sweat trickles down his brow. Panel 5: Close up on gauge. The needle remains exactly central Panel 6: Close up on Brand Manager’s eyes. They are concentrating intensely. Also, more sweat. Panel 7: Close up on the gauge. The needle clicks ONE DEGREE towards profit Panel 8: Brand Manager screams like a football coach “GO GAY EUGENE”

We are democratizing art. No longer will you have to pay someone who owns a data center just to generate pictures. With a pencil and notepad that costs less than a dollar, you too can create Artisanal Imagery.

At least this time I was able to cancel the order without too much effort. But I'm growing increasingly frustrated at companies who disguise their ad links as if they take you to a competitor's site. Deceptive, at best.
For the second time this year, a well disguised Google ad has funneled me into making a purchase with a company I didn't intend.
As someone in a technical field, I should know better, and I'm concerned that it's happened twice. Are bad sites getting more brazen? Should I slow down? Am I just tired?

What's the policy on repeating words of the day? Asking for a country.
thank you for asking! if I ran Chuck Schumer's account, I wouldn't say anything unless it contained one of the following:
1. details about how Chuck Schumer is helping
2. details about something the person reading the post could be doing
3. any other kind of helpful information at all

Correct. If the birthdate field contains corrupt or mismatched data, it defaults to 1875-05-20, which serves as a flag. May 20, 1875, is the day the international standards and metrics treaty was signed. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.

You: What was that?
Me: Nothing.

Artists need to let this sink in:
The thousands of followers who insist you stay there are actively hurting you at this point. You deserve a better audience who understands your rights and concerns. The sooner you rebuild, the easier it gets.
100% this. But also Google's excuse is bullshit. International Holocaust Remembrance Day... is on timeanddate. So is Black History Month. Google changed which holidays and occurrences feed they used to find one that excludes these days. This isn't efficency (not an excuse anyway), it's a choice.
Screenshot of a young person holding up a sign that says “BREAKING: ICE IN KENTUCKY” The algorithm-facing comment says, “Had to share these cute winter boots I just got!”
People on TikTok are reporting ICE raids happening in small cities in various states.
To get past algorithmic censorship, they’re writing down the information on paper and holding up and shuffling through the handwritten signs as they talk about pretend subjects like shopping, food, and animals.
If you are one of the top ranked political officials you are not trolling. Part of trolling is that you're saying shit you can never do, so its mean but funny. It isn't trolling if you can, and have shown a willingness, to do all the things you are "trolling" to do aramzs.xyz/microblogs/t...

Just read the response from Costco to shareholders requesting it back down from DEI. It was glorious. It begins "Our Board has considered this proposal and believes … an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary." and gets better. A happy investor #diversityandinclusion

When you come home from walking the dog, and "The Time of My Life" is blasting in the house, you have to pick up your dog and spin around a la Dirty Dancing. That's just how it is.

Hi, so I've spent the past almost-decade studying research uses of public social media data, like e.g. ML researchers using content from Twitter, Reddit, and Mastodon.
Anyway, buckle up this is about to be a VERY long thread with lots of thoughts and links to papers. 🧵
