Safe to say that level of detail is missing here. Some sections are blended too with monologues from the book in different places altogether in the movie.

I haven’t found one tbh but I’d recommend starting with the Wyler. I’m trying not to be a purist, but Fennell abandoned so many of my favorite aspects of the original story :/

It’s just a completely different take on it with some major changes. She’s focusing almost completely on it as a love story without getting into some of the themes that make the book so transgressive.

I don’t want to give anything else away but many of the book characters are completely absent.

Try to eliminate most of the book references from your mind, especially the frame narrative because that part is nonexistent.

Multiple characters and large chunks of the book are removed. It’s visually very pretty though.
