Great article. Minor comment: At one point ‘uninterested’ might be better than ‘disinterested.’

Is there any wording authors can use in the copyright notice in their book to preclude unauthorized use by AI? (Leaving aside the question of whether it would hold up in court.)
I’m not in any way defending it—don’t get me wrong. But the reason is that they think “all money is fungible.”
How bad is ios26? I’ve turned off automatic updates for now?

Japan does have mail-in voting for a VERY small group of people with severe disabilities, but otherwise not. www.soumu.go.jp/senkyo/senky...
I live in Japan and am a citizen. AFAIK Japan has no mail-in voting. Japan does have advance voting sites for a week or more before an election, but you have to go the site to vote.
Oh, they’ll keep the building for sure.

In the event that the two conflict, it seems clear to me (as a non-lawyer) that the oath takes precedence.
I think every Federal employee in the US government has to take such an oath.
I’d bet this type of case isn’t covered by the ethical canons due to a ‘presumption of regularity.’ 2/2
Non-lawyer here. If her client is an individual or private company I’m sure what you say is correct. But she’s an AUSA, and ultimately her client is the people of the US, through their government. If someone in her chain of command orders her to act illegally what do the ethical canons say? 1/2

Typo: The Guardian says McConnell has been a US Senator for more than forty decades (they meant four).
According to the Guardian he’s been a US Senator for forty decades, which is a neat trick considering the US Senate has existed for only slightly less than twenty-five decades.

Because Bezos pays them.if they want to keep their jobs they have to write stuff like this.
Conviction in the senate requires 2/3. This means at least 20 rebubs out of 57. More than a handful.
Why aren’t at least some Republicans (a few more than now) in the House and Senate willing to turn on Trump? Are they all bought off? Threatened bodily? Unwilling to be primaried? Or do they see him as a necessary evil to get tax cuts for t to he rich?
Nothing new under the sun. The folks like Tom Friedman who said Sadaam had WMDs all have their jobs, but the Dixie chicks, who correctly said it was BS, got canceled.

Get every Democrat running for senator or Congress in 2026 to make it one of their main campaign promises, so if they win they have a mandate.
