This is my neighborhood and I've been kind of stunned that Waymo didn't anticipate this problem but really stunned at how long they've been continuing to ignore the complaints.

Just a personal gripe that someone else shares apparently...
Seriously?
Moore said a Customs and Border Protection FAQ page is clear about how to value steel products.
βItβs the βprice paidβ for the steel content in the form purchased," Moore told BRAIN, paraphrasing the FAQ. "Not the price of the raw material farther up the supply chain.β
I can't tell you how many clients I've had who, having never designed a bike, think a non-adjustable seat is a good idea.
I'm not sure why the 50% steel tariff would apply to a finished good rather than only the input cost of the raw material.
Interesting report that focuses on bike manufacturing.
Interesting article. The last segment on the economics is a little different than I'd realized.
There's enough of a market in the US that a sufficiently automated factory might be viable. And, because of anachronistic rules, the only way to declare a bike "Made in the USA" is if the frame is made here.
Interesting. Hope they can stand this up and make it work.
I'm sorry to see their problems but after watching the way they burned through VC money for years with headcount and expansion rather than focusing on profitability, I'm not really surprised.
I get asked almost every week why more bike production doesn't move onshore. While there are options that make sense and companies taking interesting steps, as with most things, the full answer is complicated.
Anyone else planning to attend? Last year was very informative and valuable.
Since the company has a RAM van, it's nice to be bumped down to number 2.
As they were dragging these things across an actual bike path this morning, I feel like they were SO close to a revelation.
If this actually holds up it would ironically do more for ebike safety in the US than every other regulation proposed in the last 10 years.
Interesting that they started this article with a focus on the bike business.
