Lush views from the top...but the scree, the scree, the dreaded scree on the way down.
Elaine's typographic sensibility is exceptional...love those angles.
100% agree
Marienbad is a cultural touchstone. It changes how you see the world.
My start was A Void followed by Life: A Users Manual followed by W or the Memory of Childhood.
Well that just means you have joy in your future.
How Perecian is Perfection? I've just finished Democracy and the Urban Form by Richard Sennett - it's incredible and goes into some of the early thinking into how/why cities were built, mixed with social theory, class and architecture.
I appreciate your engagement and this discussion. I'm very aware of how ableist the world is (I work with a number of disabled artists) and as I originally mentioned, I'm interested in finding out who is doing interesting thinking/research about AI, disability & environmental impact.
Thanks Joseph, all super helpful. I've just bought a copy of CripShip and look forward to playing. I wonder (as I work a number of visually impaired folk), is there a .doc version available as well as a pdf as pdfs are not very screenreader friendly.

Here's a new interview in The End of Dance series, this time with Tamsin Fitzgerald of 2Faced Dance Company from Hereford.
She talks about ending a choreography, losing Arts Council England NPO funding & a 25 year company retrospective. Photo by Emma Drabble

video/audio creation and the rare earth metals/materials needed to make AI chips, all those steps & processes increase that environmental damage. How can we in good conscience continue to use/evolve/develop AI knowing the environmental cost?
The tension is if we agree that we have caused a climate crisis & tipping points have been reached causing irreversible damage to the earth (pre-AI), then by using AI we're adding to & increasing that environmental impact. Through LLM training models, every generative Chat GPT (or equivalent) 1/
Thanks @sicchio.bsky.social. @josephwilk.net - is there a link to the game? Would be interested in learning more.
Who is doing interesting thinking/research about AI, disability & environmental impact?
One of the tensions I'm grappling with is e.g. visually impaired people use assistive technology/apps which have AI at their centre & make their journey through our ableist world easier.
Links/humans welcome.
Look at that rise. That needs inhaling.
Alicia, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your original thoughts, the things that you comment on and the links to different media that you post. I visited Akihabara for the first time in 2018, but you've just introduced me to World Order and I think they are wonderful.
There's one or two of us in here...
Brilliant, thank you.
Sounds interesting, does Porto import all the posts into chronological order or does it import them to the top of your Bluesky timeline?
The Monkey x Better Man is a crossover I would LOVE to see.
A colour photograph of a number 5 dimly lit bodies sat closely together with their limbs making X's over their heads and different geometric planes. Their faces are covered by a long, flowing and elaborate cream coloured feathered mask. They sit on a wooden structure which has a large circular hole at the centre.
Today marks the 10 year anniversary since I've been writing about dance for Writing About Dance.
I get all smooshy reflecting on the importance of independent media platforms, dances encountered & an acknowledgement of Nicholas Minns (founder/editor). #DanceSky

A colour photograph of a Black woman with shoulder length red and brown braided hair; sheβs wearing a black pork pie hat, massive thin hoop earrings which emerge from her hair, bright purple lipstick and a blue and gold patterned top. Sheβs smiling with her eyes and mouth and is stood in front of a slightly blurred wall panel with a black and gold logo.
Here's the latest in my new series The End of Dance & it features Alexandra 'Spicey' LandΓ© from Montreal.
Spicey talks about working in 10 year cycles, her company EbnflΕh, her influence on Street Dance, ending work relationships & vulnerability. #DanceSky
