Playing ALL THE BOARD GAMES while traipsing through life's challenges. Also a life-long Great Plains "Red State" resident. Someday we'll be a bastion for socialist farmers again. Yeah, that could happen. he/him/cis/whiteprivileged/ADHD...
Oh my god
I just saw Walter Goggins schilling for Walmart.
Is this life imitating art?

Gotta love extremely localized mysteries. What the hell is happening underground?
Two men on one side of a table facing a mid-game state of The Druids of Edora board game, one standing, the other sitting and pondering his turn with chin in hand.
The end game state, from the right side, after low dice have been removed from the board.
First real game!
I truly didn't think I was going to win (scoring 174), behind in bonuses, but pulling ahead late with a couple of big swings.
P1 (100) had the highest dice rolls, and didn't much capitalize on them.
P3 (160) had sooo many tablet points.

ICE didnβt publicly acknowledge its fatal shooting of Ruben Ray Martinez until nearly a year later.
Now, body camera footage appears to contradict ICEβs account of the incident.
DHS must answer for its culture of secrecy and its lack of accountability.

I made sure my kids were well acquainted (along with The Far Side).
Oh, we don't call it "Library of Things" anymore. Now it's "Tech and Tools." Which, whatever I guess.
There is no all sides argument for racists or fascists.
I really hope these people are brought to justice for their heinous deeds.
Had a really hard evening, helping an old friend who was not in their right mind.
Patience and compassion to everyone out there who needs it right now.
Player 1 herb board with two face-up and two face-down.
Player 2 herb board completely full, with six each face-up and face-down. Another 20 points at end game.
Absorbing the iconography was the biggest hurdle, closely second to interpreting the English translation. I'm not sure how the other languages fared, but at least the poor word choices are consistent! Also, plenty enough fiddly pieces big fingers are apt to fumble.

An overview of a 2-player end game state before removing low value dice for shrine scoring.
A closer view of the main board before shrine scoring, with just five shrines in contention.
A view of the end game smaller main board. Player 2 (red) reached the 3x multiplier for shrine scoring while player 1 (purple) only just reached 1x. This made the game for player 2.
A close up of the large main board from the side, a green dolem looming in the foreground.
Had my first (2-handed) learning game of The Druids of Edora tonight. It's the satisfying Feld experience as lauded!
So many tasty choices (almost) every turn.
Multiple paths to victory became evident when player 2's endgame points jumped from 30 behind to 4 ahead.

It was raining, but nighttime, so I decided to leave. Didn't want to get him in trouble. In the mostly empty parking area I saw a cat sized lizard tromping through the large puddles. Harmless and maybe a clue to this part of the country. I bowed to Jerry and hopped out the window, ending the dream.
Through miming and drawings, I was able determine we were somewhere in China and then communicate my origin and need to return. He was mildly bewildered, but willing to help. He offered me a little food and a disguise component: a self-containing zippered pink headscarf. He didn't seem to need it.
Had a couple of "one scene" dreams recently.
Last night, it was landing on a parallel Earth, needing my bearings to work out a way home.
I was in some kind of warmly lit but spartan dormitory room. Its occupant was a young Asian man, "Jerry", who knew just a handful of English words.
Whynocs.

Should... Should I be worried about the conclusions of this discussion? Like, really worried?
CSS don't seem to be loading today, leaving the pages with bare text.
Life for me right now feels like dancing along the treeline, attempting to live as fully as warranted while ready to dart for cover from the horrors.
Israel is bombarding, literally bombarding, two Middle East capitals, Beirut and Tehran, killing 100s of civilians, and yet the US and UK media continue to portray Iran as the threat to the region.
Israel has nukes, but Iran is the nuclear threat.
We live in Orwellian times.
This is the way.
The lid for The Druids of Edora board game by Stefan Feld, next to the box bottom full of its components, most of them neatly labeled in baggies.
Could I have sat on that $50+ store credit longer?
Were there games higher on my list that weren't in stock?
Did I have other things to do this evening?
Will this be on the shelf for an indeterminate in length of time?
Was this a satisfying task?
Do these all have the same answer?

Sounds bougie to me!
Hey! Iβm making red hats too! If you donate at least $15 to a Minnesota -based cause, Iβll get you a hat. (See link below)
I guess it's not a transgression if it's mutual. A little weird to my mind, but I'm not here to kink shame.
This is largely unknown territory for me.
The first one is best.
