A History of Violence (1997) by John Wagner & Vince Locke was adapted for the screen in 2005 by David Cronenberg. The graphic novel is cautionary tale about violence while the film emphasizes a psychological toll with the consequences of one's actions. 🪓🩸😡

Chapter V, The Rescue in my mashup version of The Hardy Boys 2nd adventure, The House on the Cliff, is done. That means I’m about a fifth of the way through the book, but just getting to the meat of the story. This is only my second rewrite of Franklin W. Dixon’s work, but he seems to start slow.

Thanks A.C.! I’m convinced the 1920s and ‘30s had the best slang. Like, 200 different words for money.

Chapter IV of The House on the Cliff is done! Probably my favorite chapter so far, & why wouldn’t it be? We finally get past the mystery of the missing bike tools, and we’re on to boats racing in the bay, shots fired, and watercraft exploding. WAY too much excitement for Frank and Joe! What’s next?
