Perhaps no one wanted to pay engineers to code this as a standalone. Possibly it wasn't recognized as worthwhile work *on its own*. Maybe some product mgr or UX designer worked it into the "Print" epic in Jira & so the imperfect solution to a known user need that doesn't make money but still matters

On my mind as well.
Perfect example of the breakdown in ability to hold a conversation these days: one person articulated a stance (that he can back up with evidence) & the other person--a news anchor no less, who is doubtless aware of his rhetoric--immediately & reductively converts the statement to name calling.
