Yes Trump is very unpopular in DC (for what it’s worth I bet Trumps decision to deploy the National Guard is more popular than Trump himself in DC)
But the Democrats attacking Trump sending the National Guard because of executive overreach is exactly the type of stuff Harris ran on last year and it didn’t land with voters. Attack Trump on Ice Raids Tariffs cutting health care and Epstein
The cost annually to deploy the Guard is only like $2 billion annually which isn’t that much when government spends in the trillions. Democrats may be right on “The principle of things” that the president doesn’t have the authority to over rule the governor on matters relating to the National Guard
Guys this DC national guard issue is such a political loser for Democrats the data shows crime is down significantly (non partisan not from the Trump admin) and most people especially swing voters would trade having the guard deployed to lower crime and it’s not even that expensive
