Omg! Hope people are safe, this is scary.
This thread.
And happy weekend.
Nothing justify this salary. Absolutely nothing.
Simply sickening.
How?!?!?!
No words. π
I need more hours in my day to read all your brilliant stuff, Olivia!
"Mahmood will on Thursday announce new legislation to revoke asylum seekersβ eligibility for financial support and accommodation" - but why the cruelty?!
A safe place to live is essential to individual wellbeing and social inclusion. It's fine if my taxes help these people build their lives here.
One has to love how even the FT has had enough and goes for this choice of photo.
To the benefit of no UK citizen.
Absolutely despicable.
Agree with the UN person here.

Because work is beyond stressful, I've registered for a run at the end of March!
It's at Kew Gardens π³ π at some ridiculous hours but I'm running for the WWF, because we absolutely need to protect this beauty of a planet we have.

"Don't generate, summarise!"
Yes, I am very grateful to my education for teaching me how to think critically before and beyond testing me on how to use a tool.
Talking of summaries, I also see more and more verbose documents packed with platitudes and buzzwords that it takes Ages to make sense of.
I read the summary of a meeting where I was presenting and the recap attributed it all to the only other male colleague in the room. Summaries of my own emails are wrong and misleading, I honestly feel for less experienced people who keep being told they need to use these tools.
I swear at first I thought he meant he had put it up himself because frankly who's to say at this point, his views on women's reproductive rights (among other things) are very resonant with a certain propaganda.
First one is me every time I set foot on a vessel of any sort.
I remember exactly where I was when I read the news.
10y already!
Oh, hope the town is treating you well (I grew up an hour from there).
This stuff is total nightmare to me.
Thinking we live in a society were we have the means to avoid all this but somehow are not able to, is so scary.
But hey, you can eat olives every day, try tell them That! π
(I don't know why olives are still such a posh item in the imaginary of Britain...)
Apparently the sister of Famous US Skier posted videos and photos of the Italian doctors who treated her on social media commenting on their hotness. "forget dating apps, get to an Italian ER".
Unsurprisingly to anyone with a modicum of common sense, the people involved are not pleased at all.
During a street party a neighbour was clearly trying to assess whether I was a cool European Neighbour with a house on French riviera or just an immigrant worker.
When it turned out I was still renting, and with a friend I was not married to, she lost instantly any interest in me.
I remember the surprise once learning a flatmate had never eaten aubergines "you're almost 30 and still have to discover one of the greatest pleasures of life! I'll cook some for you".
He must have thought I was weird but as a foreigner and having him lived abroad too, I guess in an ok way.
Yes. And tourists don't come to see them, but to see their castles, like they do with Versailles and Vienna. I'm not sure the royals are a tourist attraction, honestly.
Several of them have expressed these same conflicted feelings to the press, I have seen.
What, really?!
As someone who got injured (like most athletes) for pushing myself 'farther and faster' I would advise we reassess this...
Wow! Just wow... I feel ancient and grateful to be.
Unbelievable yet so believable.
Sending you good vibes for a smooth and speedy recovery.
All the children are our children.
This makes for a very hard reading. π
