Stephen King claims he never outlines his novels β but his best work pulses with unmistakable structural intention. This post unravels the hidden architecture beneath King's seemingly spontaneous meth...
I dig #stephenking. Seems like a hip cat who #writes great #horror but when he says he doesn't have a #writingprocess I have to shrug. I think he does have a process after all: boldly.blue/stephen-king...

Writing in Trance, Music Loops & Inspiration Flow - David Somerfleck
Iβve heard other writers talk around this phenomenon for years. Stephen King has described writing as a kind of self-hypnosis, a trance you enter more

"Part 1984, Part Twilight zone...action with shock and romance." Ebony Stephenson, BookBub Reviewer. This is a partial quote from a review of the science fiction epic novel "One Grain of Sand" now available in all formats from all major global retailers. Get your copy today and share your feelings after reading it.
A time-traveling #horror #action #adventure #dystopian #sciencefiction #romance #lovestory beyond the reaches of physics or pettiness, I think sums up the entire Shards of a Shattered Sky Trilogy. Book 1 is the foundation & heart: www.walmart.com/ip/One-Grain...

3 of 3) Dems also need to unify w/complementary civil rights, voter activist, GOTV efforts, veterans groups, all yesterday & learn from past history & movements. Imagine if all those was wrapped up in & as the Dem Party.

2 of 3) Voters=audience & Dems have no centralized messaging platform, no unified party message, no unified leadership or programming. Midterms need to be taken seriously & secured yesterday. Dems need alt events, voter "parties," ways to reach out in new ways & it's not happenin'

1 of 3) The "way out" is right under our noses - #dems need to get out of their own way & start planning Big Picture more & appoint clear leadership. DNC Chair ain't it. One voice, one message for all Dems, one group instead of a gazillion voices w/some eager to submit & other looking for leadership

The long game is: be yourself and nail that down. Let others dance w/hot dogs on Tiktok. Writers write, we talk about writing, plot, outlining, tools, habits, content, messaging, morality, sociology & it ain't everybody's jam but I vote for substance every time - not to say I don't like a gag, too.

1 of 2) "Bugonia" blends horror, science fiction & satire that (for me) worked. I don't know if it would have made Rod Serling proud, but maybe M. Night Shamalan or Jordan Peele. I don't know if I could have written this because some of the scenes had me squeamish and I'm fine with most horror.

As an #author, I'd rather have "too similar" than "didn't move me." I mean, Roxane's a great essayist, (better than I), but is "too similar" harsh for a short story collection, which by itself is no small feat? Would she levy that criticism about "The October Country" or "Bloodchild?"
