I know I'm probably gonna get some shit for this, but I wanted to share something, especially during times like this. This is a bit of a read so I don't blame you if you skip this post.

One last thing. Depending on how progress goes with this piece and my current large scale projects, I might go on and recreate another one of Masahiro Ito's older pieces.

This piece also serves as a tribute to @adsk4.bsky.social and his works. His work has been one of my major inspirations for years and still continues to be. And, on the off chance he sees this, thank you for everything that you've brought to the horror genre and the art scene as a whole!

My depiction could be very different from the original as I'm now starting to realize that the figure might be made of metal like its arm. If my depiction is inaccurate, I can always go back and make changes to the model so that it closely resembles the original work. (3/3)

I also added a bit of a Silent Hill-esq theme to its appearance by making it look like it's trapped in a tight leather suit and painfully augmented with metal parts and tubes that helps it continuously work. Or maybe the suit is actually its own skin. Idk (2/3)

In my head, I pictured the figure in the painting as an overworked factory worker constantly rotating a heavy wheel. Since you can't see the lower half of the body, I decided to create a pair of legs that fits the rest of its emaciated frame. (1/3)

As some of you can probably already tell, this is a recreation of Masahiro Ito's painting "Mortal Coil," a painting that Masahiro Ito created during his time as an art student. This piece also made a cameo in Silent Hill 3.

Please note that this is still a work in progress. I plan on animating this once I complete the entire model. I still have to figure out how I'm going to model and rig the arm.
