it's beautiful that while makio's spoken words rarely resonated with asa's heart, makio's novel did.

makio talked to emiri's mom about asa not having the words to express her despair, but i think asa found some of those words in makio's novel and they clearly resonated with her

for the first time, asa candidly wept that her parents were dead. this is a huge turning point for her and the story, and probably for makio too, who i think is starting to love asa like a "parent".
