I still use Simone Pulver's 2002 article on industry coalition involvement in climate negotiations vs NGOs (better organized, more embedded): "Organizing Business: Industry NGOs in the Climate Debates." Greener Management International 39: 55-67.
That and some indication of how numbers translate into influence; not a perfect correlation by any means.
