Strong agree. The “we pay taxes too” argument doesn’t wash either. If you pay taxes and don’t use public transport there’s no expectation of the government subsiding your car, the fuel and service costs or building the garage you keep it in.

Last week we said wages were not driving inflation. Today the latest data shows wages were up 0.9% in the Dec 2025 quarter. Profits were up... 6.4% and non-mining profits were up 5.5%.

Pauline Hanson’s bigotry and vitriol have real world consequences for people. It empowers racists, who otherwise might not act out their impulses. The problem is exacerbated when those feeling empowered are police or public servants with power & influence
