If I am just 1 sardine off, it's so easy to just reset the bag and try again thinking: "This time I know I can do it" ... and then be €1 off: "Gaah! Alright! One more time!"

I recently picked up Conservas by @scottalmes.bsky.social and @saltandpeppergames.bsky.social while searching for a new solo game.

I've only played a few games so far but it's so addicting!

I can recommend. Easily game of the year for me and it's only February. Small box you can take anywhere. Perfect play time for game weight and player count.

Really cool. I need a buddycon like that. I could only bring four of the games: 3 Tricky Pigs, Piñatas, Matchstick Tycoon, and Mystery Tricks.

All games I really like except I haven't tried Mystery Tricks. The memory/card counting aspect of it doesn't sound too exciting.

I came here to mention Button Shy as well. I had surgery in November. Games I had in the hospital: Button Shy Games Simply Solo series (here I am playing A Nice Cuppa on a hospital bed table), A Carnivore Did It, and Formidable Farm.

After I got home I played a lot of A Gentle Rain during recovery.

I now got a chance to play Marvel United. Not as painted and beautiful as yours but it's going to be fun to try out the game.

Yes! They're quite fun. Short puzzles each day until holiday stress takes over and then you feel bad when you have to finish it "next year" (my wife and I still have 2 days left of the 2025 calendar that we aim to finish this month).

This interest shift is largely thanks to you, people talking about you, Hollandspiele, and your very interesting videos so that's why I'm interested. My currently preferred games are mostly shorter games with simpler rules, preferably playable solo or for two people.

I've recently moved (matured?) my interests in the board game hobby to smaller/indie publishers and designers. Where would you recommend I take my first steps?
