You can do a lot just through the TRMNL plugin web interface.
First version didn’t follow any if their guides or frameworks. But it worked and it was fun to make!

@hotdogsladies.bsky.social at the risk of being a ‘well actually guy’ - you don’t need a server to write your own TRMNL private plugin. The wisdom quotes plugin I wrote was all JavaScript parsing your markdown document and running in the plugin. Whole thing was vibe coded just to try it out.

Still needs more layout tweaks. Finding it challenging to get the curly quotes to align perfectly to the top and bottom of the screen while allowing for dynamic text size.
Also considering adding a text size option.
