“Mostly it is loss which teaches us about the worth of things.”
― Arthur Schopenhauer
The few remaining bills I had in my pocket were already crumpled up, along with a few other haphazardly stashed items in my pocket. I wondered what the purpose of all this misery was, but kept on walking through the night.
Still, even with all the rain it wasn't half bad.
I walked for a long time - for what seemed like hours - to finally get to my destination. The rain let up a little while, only to pour down even harder than before. "Not much luck here these days, especially with this poor weather." I mused half-ironically, and half-exhausted.
I stood up from where I was, and gathered what few belongings I had with me. "Thanks for everything," I half-heartedly said, with a forced smile. I paid the tip, and took off. Good thing I had a jacket with me, because it was pouring outside.
"The world has always been in chaos. There's nothing we can do about it, certainly not at 1:55am." I sighed, looking pensively at the shot glass in front of me. I could just make out the silhouettes of cars passing by in the overly soaked streets. The muffled sounds of people talking faded away.
You can't rush writing. It is something that has to come organically. The right atmosphere is necessary, as well as a focused timeline of daily work devoted to the book at hand.

POST-MODERNISM AND THE DEATH IMPULSE By Thomas Sheldon MacDonald
This philosophical relic maps the death impulse as sacred architecture—where suffering, autonomy, and non-being become sovereign tools for becoming. A funeral for post-modern detachment. A crossing into sovereign ache.
#DeathImpulse
"Language is not enough to describe the absence of all things through the void." - Essay on the Void of Non-Being.
"By looking introspectively, we are putting together a puzzle that is difficult to solve, and is missing pieces." - Essay on the Void of Non-Being.
"The acausal, as well as the causal, are simultaneous concepts that are represented by not only the symbolic, but the very essence of what it means to be human." - Essay on the Void of Non-Being.
"I saw it in his eyes. I immediately knew - that he knew - what I knew. We both saw death, and didn't have the vocabulary to account for it. That was when I acquiesced to the frailty of my own shadow."

My next book is going to be close to 200 pages, or longer slightly. It will be a philosophical treatise regarding life, death, and meaning in our post-modern society.

Ripe and fresh tasting at this point, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine. A blend of 75% Grenache and 15% Syrah with some Mourvedre and Cinsault. Aged mostly in concrete vats for 12 months. 16% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.

Hey, things are great here! Cheers!

Col Solare Winery Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Washington State It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious one from Red Mountain. Purple in color with a wide reddish rim. Elegant nose with blue and black fruits, light cedar, light earth and chocolates notes. Medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, dried figs, light cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates and earth. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain. Elegant and rich. Complex, spicy and entertaining. This 8 year old Cabernet is drinking close to its peak. Fruit forward and easy drinking right out of the bottle, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years. Has good potential to become a 94 point wine. Showing a great mouthfeel with nice balance and elegance. Interesting enough to drink by itself and talk about. Wine Enthusiasts 91 points. Wine Advocate 93 points. Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food like a nice piece of steak. A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. Aged in all new French oak barrels for 22 months. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $80.

Haven't had Facebook for almost a year. Don't miss a thing. I like this format much better, and it's at least 90% less cringe.
"Never again shall I see with my own eyes. Never again shall I dream. Never again shall I be anything in my own eyes. Death. Silence. Death. Silence. In the back of the Hearse, the coldness consumes me. Fear upon my lips, down to the very ground. There is nothing that can be seen or heard."
Open the gates. Turn to face me.
