Difficult to emphasize just how much a generation of kids has been taught that being dishonest, superficial, and narcissistic is the pathway to attention and therefore success

I don't remember that either. I know the US got different dubs for the cartoons to us, but I don't know if that was the case with the comics as well.

In the book they visit Asterix's cousin to aid them against the Romans, clearly at least one of Asterix's parents were British.

Brittany is also why Great Britain's called that, it's not a boast. It just means big Britain to differentiate it from little Britain (Brittany) in France.

Asterix is from Armorica in France which is in Brittany, making him a Breton. The OG French title for the book Asterix in Britain calls the British Bretons.

which is brilliantly confusing if you don't know Brittany in France is named after Britain, because it was colonised by the ancient British.

America can thank Europe for doing the moral & ethical procedural justice that an American PROJECT 2025, Trump-owned DOJ & SCOTUS cannot muster up the decency to do as per the oaths they took.

I don't care which country gets the names of the perps out in the open as long as they get exposed. Right, centre, or left, it's time to put the rich on notice that they're not above the law.

When August Met Christine (Part 3/4) - Gator Days

Characters

August - Alligator - A single guy working in IT at a tech start up. Has a lot of trouble talking to people.

Christine - Alligator - Just moved into town and is trying to meet people.

Transcript

Panel 1

Christine has just met August at a party and she's doing her best to get a conversation going. August is shy and awkward and is petting someone's pet dog to help calm his nerves. Little does he know that Christine likes shy and awkward guys.

Christine: So most people here are students or in tech.

August: I'm in tech. I do IT for a startup.

Panel 2

Christine thinks that's cool.

Christine: THAT'S AWESOME! On the cutting edge of technology! Must be wild.

The dog has determined that his work here is done. He has full confidence that August can take it from here. He takes off to help other introverted people who might be at this party. Truly, he is a hero.

Panel 3

August looks away and tries to think of what to say next.

August (thinking): This is going well. I should say something interesting.

August searches deep inside his brain to find something interesting about himself to mention. There's a lot of random video game trivia in there.

Panel 4

August spouts the first thing that comes into his mind.

August: I own three blenders.

Christine: Really? Why?

August: I don't know.

Christine finds this mysterious and intriguing.

Transcript

Panel 1

August is trying to survive a party he didn't want to go to. He's sitting on a couch and petting a dog when a lady approaches him. He tries his best to act cool.

Christine: Hey! Anyone sitting here?

August: No. Go ahead and park yourself.

Panel 2

Christine sits down and smiles at August. August doesn't notice as he is currently busy critiquing what he just said. The dog on August's lap is not bothered by anything.

August (thinking): PARK YOURSELF!? Why did I say that!? She probably thinks I'm weird.

Panel 3

August's internal thoughts grow more intense. His frustration with himself increases.

August (thinking): This is why I never go out. I scare everyone off with my weirdness.

Panel 4

Christine has pulled out a marshmallow. Where was that? I don't think I want to know. The dog on August's lap is extra happy to see food. Christine has pulled out the best ice breaker she can think of.

Christine: Do you think you could eat your way out of a house-sized marshmallow before suffocating?

August (thinking): YES! She's weird too!

It's like if the only local coffee shop had--for some inscrutable reason--two rooms, one for hanging out with your friends, and one for random people continuously yelling obscenities in your face.

It would not be weird to choose the first room.

Missing Phone - Gator Days

Characters

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.

Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable child who loves making friends. August's son.

Mewbert and Nougat - Cat - Animal - August and Gustopher's pet cats.

Transcript

Panel 1

The power has gone out and Gustopher is trying to figure out what happened. This has also conveniently made this panel extremely easy to draw.

Gustopher: Dad! Did the power go out?

August: I think so. Help me find my phone. I'll get a light.

Panel 2

August has turned on the light on his phone. This means I actually had to draw this panel. Mewbert is peacefully sleeping on the couch in the background. Gustopher is momentarily stunned by the light, but at least his dad found his phone.

August: This will help. My phone should be in this room.

Panel 3

Gustopher is confused. His dad is looking for his phone while using said phone as a light. He fights the urge to say anything and wonders how long it will take his dad to realize what's going on. Mewbert is annoyed at the commotion. Nougat has found herself on the top of the couch and is amused by the commotion.

August: I was just using it. I don't know where I-

Panel 4

August suddenly realizes that he is using is phone to try to find his phone. Embarrassment washes over him. Gustopher will remember this.

August: Oh.

Mewbert closes her eyes and attempts to go back to sleep. Nougat watches from above and it calculating how funny it might be if she pounces on Mewbert right now.

Misleading headline. The other children will be getting ISPs instead which means they are still getting supporting but having to go through a less arduous process than the EHCP to get it. The EHCP will just be for more complex support.
