I've long wanted to build my own #ableton instrument using samples recorded at my home studio. My first one involved a sample set of 20 backwards-manipulated #guitar notes. Surprised how pretty and stark it sounds.

The plugin nerd-out continues... The Capitol Mastering Compressor #plugin? Beautiful vari-mu compressor. The curve on it stays the same no matter how much you push the saturation. It is a delicate flower. Tested on an energetic guitar-driven post rock single and liked the tube compressor sound of it
The hidden #frequency slider (click on the tape) makes for epic tone shaping though. Really dig the impact on the #sound... @universalaudio.bsky.social

That being said, the 458A has this gorgeous feel to it, all the way up to about 2 o clock. After that, predictably outlandish. But I really dig how the #plugin brings out the #strings in a #filmscore or pulls groups a tiny bit more together

Look what the @sonnox.com Limiter did to the sound when safe mode was engaged and the Enhance fader turned all the way up... Clean as a whistle. I'm gushing. I know it. Not a surprise. Anyone who wants their #music to sound good should get this #plugin, and pretty much anything else Sonnox does

I think the @sonnox.com makes mixes feel and seem louder without too much actual gain in dB. I tested it out with pink noise set to meter at -6dB, and somehow the thing increased how loud it sounded without too much change on the meter. Bonkers. HOW?

Another interesting fact about the @sonnox.com Inflater? Yes, it increases the dB output, but someone stays below 0dB TP. I don't get how this thing works. Not complaining! Truly, this thing is magical. Just gotta figure it out a little better

#Sonnox #Inflater does some super interesting things to a signal. The phase barely moves even when pushed to maximum... It's no wonder it's a classic for #audioengineering. Adding it to the mix bus on a film score I've been composing made me have a Maxell moment in my seat. @sonnox.com
The phase switch on the Omega A also does something super crazy... I can't quit pin down what is going on. Does anyone have any idea?

Interesting to note that the Kush Audio Omega A can look super choppy when pushed beyond the halfway point. Also of note is the phase... Like 100hz and below and 10K and up ain't cool if you slap this on a stereo signal. Trying to find a use for it...
