My question was the other way round: why reserve seats for parties?

What’s the reasoning for having party seats in HoL?

Western Europe is at the end of a 40 year experiment – with Easten Europe having joined it around 35 years ago. The experiment was to see what "trickle-down" neoliberalism delivered. We can say for sure now that it delivered:

On Labour's membership card it says they're a "socialist party". If Socialism means anything, it's surely about pooling costs/risks so we can achieve shared social goods. Does the Chancellor believe its unfair for people without children to pay towards schools, SEN provision, or breakfast clubs?

Indeed. But 1) “if ever” is being used generously: there are many others who could do with a grilling before her 2) my point was about consistency - the lack of a grilling for said others. Are you suggesting that of all the people he’s interviewed, she was the one that demanded going off script?

Weird listening to Nick Robinson interrogating Zarah Sultana on Political Thinking given his tag line: “not for a news-y interrogation, but for an extended and relaxed conversation”. When he chats to conservatives, that’s very much what it is. I’m glad he is grilling her but where’s the consistency?

As to your point about the local, I’m very into landscapes or ecosystems, particularly where these cross national borders, as new sources of macro identity that transcend the nation. But they come with their own dangers (e.g Lega Nord’s Padania)
