I looked for you, too!

I am SO glad you are safe. What a harrowing journey, though! We just landed back in DC but we had a ton of turbulence too.
#AASL25 was a blast! It always renews me as a librarian. Seeing national friends, going to fabulous sessions, and having amazing keynotes really raises the PD bar for me. Oh, and @mamagilbs.bsky.social and I presented two well-received sessions, too! Feeling like a rockstar heading home. ๐ฅฐ
Thanks for joining us despite the heat! #AASL25
The best travel and life partner ever. Super stoked for #AASL25 with @mamagilbs.bsky.social! #LibrarianPowerCouple
Same. I thought I was in a great place and it became a million little to do's. It'll be worth it to see you at #AASL25, though!
SAME. The quintessential conundrum of how to pack for a conference when it's going to be in the 80s! #AASL2025
This was such a fun episode to record! Special thanks to @slupodcast.bsky.social for coordinating! #TLSky #schoollibrary #edusky
My middle school library needs a few more board games & card games! I have never seen kids want to play games with their friends as much as this year. Can you help? Chess & Uno are most requested. Thx so much in advance! www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/... #TLSky #EduSky #schoollibrary
I am super honored to be the newest guest on Steve's podcast, talking about my experience as a school librarian with integrating Conversational English in my makerspace. Worth a listen! (There's even a giveaway!) #TLSky
Yes! Kids at my school are more interactive with each other. Card games and chess playing in the library have increased with the removal of phones. Not seeing the reading rise yet, but social skills are on the upward swing and I'll take it.
I'll be interested to see if this is an anomaly or a pattern across the country. Interesting data about reading and school library visits! #TLSky
Love this! Way to go!!
I've always loved this song. Rings true now too watching the middle school couples starting up (blech).
I am so unbelievably proud of my wife @mamagilbs.bsky.social for starting her journey as a KQ Blogger this year! This is her latest post. Well worth the read for newbies and veteran school librarians alike. #powercouple
Sign me up! Always happy to talk about everything Libraryland. :)
So excited to get to be a blogger again this year for the AASL Knowledge Quest blog!
I did a Google form application that students had to fill out why they wanted to be part of SLAT and an idea for something new for our library. I accepted everyone (about 20) and 10-15 regularly attended this yr.
Proud of you! Way to go!! ๐๐
The choose your own adventure format is still being published, although most are based in a historical setting than random stories we read growing up. Kids are still into them! I have a bunch in my library from the You Choose series. But agreed that it should have spread to other media too!
This year's student-created bookmark contest winners are now available at checkout! We had both hand drawn and digital categories. They turned out great!
Found today on the floor of my middle school library. What strange things have you found recently? #TLSky
Starting the weekend with the latest in a favorite series by @jamesponti.bsky.social shipped by the ever-wonderful @parnassusbooks.bsky.social! If you haven't gotten on this middle school series, consider this your invite! It's one of the few series I have read past book 1. Worth it! #TLSky
An empty watering can sitting on top of a laptop.
When it's a Friday afternoon in a school library and you forget to water the plants, you make a real obvious reminder for Monday. #TLSky
Card created in Canva taped to a book end on a shelf in the library. Students looked for cards like this and turned them in for a rubber ducky!

Leftover rubber ducks of various colors and styles.
It's National Rubber Ducky Day! I bought some on Amazon & hid cards I made on Canva throughout the library for students to find. Lucky finders got to pick a rubber duck! I only advertised on our LMS library page. It was great! (TL,DR: Libraries are more than books. They're fun, too!) #TLSky #EduSky

I love this annual tradition of making paper snowflakes with @mamagilbs.bsky.social and hanging them on our kitchen cabinets. Easy and fun!
Yes! Just starting to put my school librarian PLN life back together after the deteriorating of X. So glad to see many of us have found each other again!
Good! Fantasy is work for me too. But I'm an adventure girl and a badass main character is always a plus. Looking forward to it!
How was it? I brought the print version home with me for break.
