It's kind of ironic that Jonathan Swift wrote a modest proposal on eating instead of highlighting the divide between the rich and the poor. A real missed opportunity!
Faculty and students should get to walk into graduation ceremonies like the Olympics Parade of Nations. Announce everyone by discipline, dress us in fancy athletic wear, let us wave some tiny flags around.
The Olympics are great but a true test of every nation's athleticism would be to take a totally random cross-section of citizens from each country and randomly assign them to compete in an Olympic event. I'd watch the hell out of that, every sport.
"For Your Consideration" is one of Christopher Guest's lesser films, but it's worthwhile to watch just for Catherine O'Hara's botox face, which she somehow made without prosthetics or digital effects. RIP to a legend.

Move right? Move left? Drop certain issues? Highlight others? Those all matter but not as much as simply waiting for the party-in-power to become unpopular.
These results underscore why Dems need good 2026 Senate cands in those "reach" states (IA NE OH TX FL AK SD): their coalition is now super-charged for off-year elections. Reliable, high educ, suburban voters have steadily moved to Dems. And if indies disapprove of Trump, map gets crazy real quick.
