Any UK party that doesn’t fully back renewable energy as a security shield from world events like this, must have fossil fuel interests / backers. Don’t vote for them. I’d like to see even more renewables coming online ASAP.

Reliance on fossil fuels puts us all at risk when it comes to world events. Any party in the UK that doesn’t support renewable energy, is a shill for the fossil fuel industry. We need to go hard on #renewables.
The ones I loved were the Brazil nuts in chocolate. My new tradition is to now make my own every year. Cheap, handmade chocolates. 🤌 Everyone a winner.
Despite what you hear from fossil fuel-funded politicians, the U.K has just generated a record amount of clean, domestic wind energy.
Enough to power 23 million homes!
U.K decarbonisation policy is a recipe for energy security.
Dirty gas sets the wholesale price of clean renewable electricity. How about we break that link so everyone in the UK gets cheaper electricity? As more renewables comes on line, electricity gets cheaper for all. It makes no sense to me why there is a link to gas.
It was a great evening! Thanks to everyone and especially @thechiller.bsky.social for being there, and @skymook.bsky.social for taking this picture!
If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour
A house mouse is foraging for seeds amongst the spent flower heads of cosmos.
I saw a house mouse foraging for seeds amongst cosmos seed heads in my #garden today. I’ve heard this mouse many times at night, but I managed to see it in daylight finally. #autumn #mammal #uk
Such a relief that Russia lost in Caerphilly.
A whole host of autumnal harvests site on autumn leaves, including pumpkins, courgettes, apples and more. An orange pumpkin has RHS caved into it.
An autumnal scene with a pond with a type of green floating plant. In the foreground is a clump of purple flowers. In the distance a tree with bright red leaves site on a. Background of green foliage.
Visited RHS Wisley today by coach. It was lovely to see all the autumn colours. Even sat into the odd talk, and visit tropical greenhouses. I had to treat myself to some plants to bring home.
The rainbow colours reminded me of a lama game I played on the ZX Spectrum by Jeff Minter. Check him out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Mi...
Ticket stub - Never did go into any gigs, and the missing memories haunt him for all time.
Landlord has accepted an offer on the house. Anyone know of good properties (either 1 bed or house shares) open for rent around December in #Brighton or surrounds?
A wasted opportunity to interview the prime minister on what has been done and where we are going as a country. #BBCLaurak thinks we are only interested in how popular Starmer is as a politician and immigration.
Every time I walk into a room having forgotten what I was going to do in there.
I’ve bought my home now, but I will never forget how unfair it was for renters. Ripoff agencies and landlords. I welcome all the above.
Let’s face it… Ant and Dec probably voted for Gary Lineker. #NTAs
A homemade wooden box is attached to an old brick wall. Strawberry plants can be seen in the box and hanging over. A beautifully formed ripe red strawberry can be seen hanging there with a couple of green ones.
This is the first time I have ever seen a strawberry ripening in my garden in the #UK in September. #gardening #climate
David looked angry. The oil industry has cut many jobs even when there were loads of oil and gas licenses. Those skilled offshore workers are need for the clean energy transition. He failed to mention that none of the oil or gas from the north sea is guaranteed to the UK.
That Dyson idiot comes to mind. After he was so pro Brexit too. 😒
I don’t understand why you are upset.
I wasn’t having a go at Rachel Reeves. I support a number of her actions so far. I have not seen good evidence that rich people leave the UK when taxed though.
I do want her to be bold on narrowing the divide though, let’s hope she does.
Yes, I’m sure. Half the wealth of the UK is owned by just 10% of its population.
I also accept that it is a worldwide problem, and other countries being worse do not change the facts.
I do appreciate what Labour has done so far, but I would love them to narrow the rich-poor divide somehow. In a system rigged towards the wealthy, I do understand that it is difficult, but not impossible.
I was thinking more about owning multiple properties, land and business rather than heirlooms. Trackable assets and fair tax. Things like buying 7 houses at once means you pay less tax. Why? This is favouring wealth in an unfair way.
The rich-poor divide has been growing for decades. I’m not sure there is much evidence that the wealthy leave when taxed. Either way, how about taxing wealthy people’s assets? The assets can’t just up and leave.
Because I pay the same standing charge as someone who uses a 100 times more power than me. It’s a rip off favouring the wealthy.
And, because dirty expensive gas sets the wholesale price of cheap clean renewable energy. We can change that.
I think it would have been quite funny if they just used the milkshake photo for this tweet.
. I don’t quite understand why wealthy people don’t want to contribute to the country they benefit from. It wouldn’t change their lifestyle all. They would still have more than most could ever imagine.
The only fair way to deal with this is to weigh it on scales, and ensure there is half each. Having said that, the one with cut off crumbs to balance it is a disaster for someone. 🤷🏻♂️
I cut, you choose is best!
Thomas Deininger uses plastic waste to create sculptures,or should I say, works of Genius!!!!!!
