anyway the real discourse should be around if rotom and spiritomb are legendaries (I'm saying yes)
the amount of times i've off-handedly mentioned a legendary and someone confidentally chimes in that 'oh that's a mythical, not a legendary' is CRAZY to me and drives me insane
genuinely feels like I jumped into a different timeline sometimes
only hill I will LIVE on is that mythical pokΓ©mon are NOT REAL
it's legendary or it's not, I don't make the rules
reading the serebii descriptions of the different sub-categories gave me psychic damage; at best they are an arbitrary subset
if you tell me that a mon is mythical but not legendary π€¬

brawl all-star mode my beloved
also wanted to add how GORGEOUS the volume 1 cover is
(+ more naoko panels)
9. boogiepop doesn't laugh (1999)
penned by LN illustr. kouji ogata, it's really nice to see his style evolve from a whimsical stencil to a gentle watercolour for a decidedly warmer take on kouhei's bleak and melancholy LN.
<3 the added naoko content + how gay takeda x boogiepop & suema x nagi are

8. emily is away too (2017)
thoroughly enjoyed this follow-up, what a vibe! istg this game is super queer-coded lmao
the addition of evelyn really makes the game come alive, and big props to the paratextual elements being nailed dead-on (anyone remember when the youtube sub box was on the right?)
LIKE WHAT IS THIS COME ON
7. kyoukai no kanata (2013)
gorgeous show that I ended up really adoring towards the last quarter, with kyoani flexing their action (!) muscles with a good dose of YA sincerity and actually fairly funny scenes. main duo are awesome. could not stop seeing that one guy as maruki from persona 5 btw
6. tsubaki shoujo (1983)
if you can get past the layer 0 of 'oh wow this is shocking disturbing content' this was a surprisingly serene (?) read. a lot of deliberately laid out spreads with a strong sense of surrealism that kind of had me in a trance despite its brevity, looking forward to midori
Thinking about how bsky has the most horrible setting turned on by default that says "i don't want to see any other languages except English" and if no one tells you to put it on "no selection" you straight up won't see posts from people set to different languages on your TL.
new cover out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=AytL...
extremely proud of this one

A shot of Majima in his Mad Dog attire from behind signalling a farewell to someone
The beginnings of Majima Constructionβ’
5. yakuza kiwami 2: majima saga (2017)
really enjoyed this short 2-hour bonus addition with very nice callbacks to yakuza 0, ending with a heartwarming resolution to my favourite story thread from that game, as well as a peek into the beginnings of Majima Constructionβ’
(I NEED MORE MAJIMA CONTENT)
Will Psyduck pass his driving test??
15 years in the joint made me a fuckin' monster
4. oldboy (2003)
a well-constructed film with very strong character performances from the main protag and villain (shoutout to the most GENERATIONAL hater of possibly all time), but I think it lacks staying power for me.
tad too misogynistic and leaned a bit too comedic for me to take it seriously
The cover for Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix
3. witchcraft for wayward girls (2025)
first grady hendrix and what a smothering read it was: the overpowering floridian summer malaise juxtaposing the cold control of adults creates a tension that makes way for some truly climactic and gory scenes.
not as much witchcraft as I was hoping for tho π§ββοΈ
Meme redraw of Elite four Rika from PokΓ©mon and champion Geeta in a car. Geeta is on the driver's seat but is distracted putting lipstick on looking on the rearview mirror while Rika hysterically tries to take over the wheel to avoid crashing. I forgot to draw seatbelts, I don't go in cars often lol

A still frame of a clearly mentally well Pearl
2. pearl (2022)
gotta say I prefer X, but I do appreciate it as a companion piece. some nice callbacks and seeing the setting re-contextualised in a lovely looking 1910s style made me feel right at home with the lit I usually read.
not as much depth as I was looking for, but man that monologue :o
my room would look like kanbaru's if I didn't have like 5 ikea billys
1. emily is away (2015)
cute little indie game to start off the yearβI enjoyed the simulated nostalgia despite not exactly growing up with AOL, though I did use skype extensively.
although subsequent playthroughs weren't as striking as the first, the things left unsaid struck a chord with me
