I don't remember being taught "financial literacy" - I learned about checks in 7th grade math (c 1994-5 ) but I don't remember ever explicitly learning about interest rates or credit cards. But I do think a lot of this stuff gets covered piecemeal or as part of other lessons (e.g. compound interest)
And/or adults who forgot that they WERE taught that in school. Or from adults who graduated HS 20+ years ago and aren't actually familiar with the current curriculum.
