Ok, off my soap box. This got under my skin this morning 😂

• understand that you should add to someone’s life and not cause more damn stress (this goes for everyone, tbh)
• realize you aren’t competing with other men, you’re competing with her peace (see above)

That’s it. Yet, it’s so much easier to blame us than it is to look inward and do the work.

The thing is, women are explaining why they’d rather be single and what men need to do to solve this “epidemic”

• let go of the machismo and build those close friendships like women do
• learn what an equal partnership consists of and bring that to a relationship

Me: “The patriarchy is what created ‘the male loneliness epidemic. Y’all did this to yourself.”

I got to introduce myself as THE Public Historian at Latinos in Heritage Conservation for the first time at a meeting today with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and may I just say…the air of expertise that title gives me plus the confidence to match made me all like

These are ALL products of colonialism. BIPOC communities are still taking care of our neighbors.
