OWASA maintains over 120 miles of sewer easements. Easements are an important tool to keeping sewage flowing to the wastewater treatment plant and out of the environment. They can also be a prime habitat for invasive species, including the aggressive fig buttercup pictured below.

OWASAβs 2025 Wastewater Report Card is now available! This annual report card is our update to the community about our wastewater treatment process, how weβre meeting and surpassing regulations, and how weβre managing the system to protect public and environmental health.

OWASA's annual drinking water treatment change began March 1 to protect drinking water quality. Throughout March, customers may see OWASA crew members flushing the system by releasing water from fire hydrants to ensure the entire distribution system is disinfected adequately.
Next Friday, March 6, the W. Rosemary Water Main Replacement Project will move to Phase 2. The detours will remain the same, but the area accessible to local traffic only will shift eastward. Please see owasa.org/rosemary for the details.

On Sunday, March 1, at 12 AM, OWASA's annual drinking water treatment change will begin and last throughout the month of March. Drinking water will remain safe to drink, but customers may notice a slight change in taste and odor.
There was so much demand to tour our water treatment plant at the Spring Open House, we added an 11:30 a.m. tour to accommodate as many community members as we can!
