been feeling kind of disheartened lately about my career trajectory, but it's a good a reason as any to put in more effort there

I think this could've told a much tighter story with a 90 minute runtime. The atmospherics were impeccable, and it doesn't resort to cheap tricks for its horror. It leans into breath-holding suspense and a constantly impending sense of doom. Just too many moments where nothing is happening though.
Okay honest rating of this was probably a C+/B- from me. There's only so much you can do with 2 hours runtime all inside of a cramped submarine. Opportunities for exposition presented itself but were squandered by the sound mixing, or in other cases the film leaning too much into desiring ambiguity.
10/10 if you want to see Markiplier oiled up and in a neoprene pup harness

the thing that frustrates me the most is that "2+2=5ism" in asserting bold-faced lies in the presence of direct proof. it's frightening how (arguably) effective that's been in shaping a narrative on the right, when all the evidence showing otherwise isn't even difficult to find.
