I am always amused by Family Circus' eternal post-war, somewhat squarish dress attire for the kids.
First, that's a decent observational joke about bratty kids and their limited sense of chivalry.
Second, I once had this idea that the Compound was so fundamentalist that even the idea of talking cartoon animals was seen as Satanic, which Billy (Glen) escapes from to become an animation legend.
