Staycation begins…
Working on an ArcGIS Hub header image… this is the Duck River in TN. The most biologically diverse river in North America and home to many of my childhood adventures
Originally just exploring observations from a watershed in WV, but then went down a cartographic rabbit hole trying to better visualize density of observations and then it went into pure carto play land from there
Playing with @inaturalist.bsky.social data from ArcGIS Living Atlas in ArcGIS Pro
Really beautiful run at Biltmore tonight
Why am I 1000 years late to the show Silicon Valley?!

Till next time, Redlands!
Early morning Redlands run 🥰🌱🌸
A short trip to Dolly Sods, stayed in Elkins, WV… coal-town-turned-Monongahela-gateway-community, and reinventing themselves with funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (via the USDA RDP, slated to be reduced or eliminated in this Administration.) I love you, Appalachia. Hang in there.
Grant me the strength
to endure the climbs I cannot avoid,
the wisdom to skip the ones that’ll break me,
and the humility to admit I probably should’ve trained.

Baby update! Plus random garden pics
What I thought was a one-sided competition to attract bluebirds has now turned into a fully mutual two-sided competition. The neighbors updated their birdhouse and relocated it. But. I still have the nest with chicks! #iwin
They’re starting to get feathers!!
In my ongoing one-sided competition against my neighbors to attract bluebird nesting in my yard… we now have babies!
Weekend things- Odin debuts in bikejoring
Trillium underwoodii. A wedding gift from a friend that is in full flower every year on our anniversary. One of just a handful of plants I brought with us when we moved. That friend, a fantastic botanist of 30+ years in Alabama, was just fired for no reason.
Fascists are vile. Even my own dog understands that. #schindlerslist צְבִי
The five-o-clock shadow 👌🏻 Definitely gives “I’ve been binging wine and terrible news all night and want to change the world” vibes
This is now CBS? Ed Murrow is rolling over in his grave.

But good for Bill Owens.
“Tell me you need help without telling me you need help…”
My neighbors don’t know it but I’ve been competing against them for which one of us attracts the bluebirds…
I win.

Man I hate it when I’m checking out online and accidentally click the button “Please send me news and alerts from Pete Hegseth!” Impossible to unsubscribe from that crap!
Tell me who has had a more dramatic and satisfying end than Pope Francis coming back from the brink of death to tell JD Vance how much he sucks and then peacing out on Easter weekend.
