I rode through 18th and Wabash going north a week ago, and it jogs east a tad when crossing 18th. I think that's the only intersection in the city that I've experienced that on.

I'm never buying a Samsung phone again. The issue with MMS messaging not working is enough to make me tear my beard out

Traffic violence is a public health epidemic in the US. Limiting exposure by driving less will save lives.

Imagine your car as a cigarette.

Bikes=Freedom, especially for children. Taking away that freedom is a stupid thing to do.

Cycling helped me embrace my disabled identity Using a bike as a mobility aid was not a conscious decision, but it is how I began to understand that I am disabled, and that disability is a fundamental part of my identity. Because cycling enabled m...

Better things are possible. We’re building out our battery of #BuildTheTunnel resources to make the case to decision-makers, the future NITA board, and friends and neighbors throughout northeastern Illinois. Dive in and share to help us unlock Chicagoland’s potential with CrossTowner regional rail.

Americans are addicted to cars, but in many ways it's a forced addiction. Decades of policy have made cars the dominant mode of travel at the expense of others, and marketing reinforces the car as the "best" choice. This isn't to excuse individual choices, but car dependency is a systemic issue.

Denmark responded to 1973 oil crisis by reducing car-dependency. Let's do that now. - Streetsblog Chicago "The government had to introduce car-free Sundays. And then people realized that the car-free Sunday was the best day of the week."

FYI the 1970s oil crisis was the impetus for Copenhagen turning into a cycling city

My 75yo father rides a bike in Chicago. He is hardly a paragon of health. Does he ride everywhere? No. But he feels safe enough to make some trips by bike.

For the most part, snow is cleared pretty quickly in Chicago. There are a few days a year that I don't ride though.

I have. It's quite unpleasant. Thankfully many cities have decent infrastructure that gets better every year. I live in Chicago. It's not perfect but it's pretty good nonetheless.

A golf cart might make sense for some people. I don't think they're allowed on the street in Chicago unfortunately.

Sure but most of the population lives in cities. If they can make some trips without a car, that's a good thing.
