The March spot was produced by Camille Lascala. It was her first one to create, and she knocked it out the park. And she was in good hands with editor Jessica Teal.

Can always count on a long airplane flight for quality writing time. This one was extra special because as we touched back down, I wrote The End. Just the first draft, all long hand in a notebook, so plenty of work ahead, but Iβm celebrating. #scriptsky
Thatβs cool! Iβve been with TCM for 19 years, so thereβs been some fun chances to work on the lot.
At a place, working on a thing. #scriptsky
My growing collection of bookmarks. Started making these for new projects to help me not be so precious with the first draft. Give myself permission to write terribly and reach the finish line. Canβt rewrite what isnβt there. #scriptsky
Felt good to take my time & use my design skills this week to make a poster for my script Palace. Looking forward to avoiding AI more and more in 2026. #scriptsky
Camille - my first proper script. Wrote it in college based on a real life apartment complex that was destroyed by Hurricane Camille in 1969. An ensemble story about the residents living there in the week leading to the destruction.
Sticking with the metaphorβ¦ being in neutral isnβt a bad thing. Youβre simply sitting at a red light. Your engine is primed. Sheβs raring to go. When the light turns green, itβs foot on the gas. Then itβs just about which of the 4 ideas presents the clearest and most exciting path on the road ahead.
Congrats!
As a kid, my family owned & raced thoroughbreds. Mucked many a stalls in my day but also met an unbelievable cast of characters at the track.
Finish the first draft of my current WIP sometime in the next month then dive into all its rewrites and drafts.
Howdy! I am David Byrne. Just started Act III of my current WIP, which is a genre-bending heist film. It takes my favorite genre to write⦠magic realism, and cranks it up to be more magic oh hell yeah!
For the last few years, I found a word to serve as my new year mantra. For 2026, Iβm going with a phrase insteadβ¦ But what if you led your own little rebellion? Letting that inspire me to think bigger and act bolder every single day. Hoping you all lead a few little rebellions this year. #scriptsky
Halfway through a genre-bending heist script. A team thatβs part Oceanβs 11 cool meets Guardians of the Galaxy misfits. Hoping I can get this first draft done by early February.
Always honored to produce this goodbye to cinemaβs greats. Proud to partner again with Christian Hammann in telling this story. Edited by Gordon Gyor. Sound design by Merve Gurses. Graphics by Joe Coleman. And many other TCM co-workers who helped along the way.
Iβd call that a Nifty One Fifty. Nifty not to think twice and just spend it all on pitches.
PALACE
After an estranged daughter is transported into a world where classic films come alive, she must embrace the movie magic she long dismissed to battle a vengeful screen siren and save her quixotic fatherβs movie theater from demolition.
Another TCM Classic Cruise in the books.
Film legends entertaining passionate film lovers while sailing through dreamlike seascapes. And, as always, itβs my TCM family pouring everything they have into making it one helluva trip full of laughter, magic, and endless memories. #tcmclassiccruise
Spent the last 8 weeks injecting horror movies into my eyeballs. Had a devilishly good time producing this with editor Angela Hammer. October on TCM is going to be fire! π₯ππΏ #scriptsky youtu.be/rRn-RusOWh4?...
Wasnβt the marathon writing I plannedβ¦ more marathon movie screening for work. But outlined a new story and wrote the 1st 10 pages. Pushed a 2nd script into Act II. Wrapping research for a special project. Leaving for a work trip in 5 days, excited for plenty of airport & hotel writing. #scriptsky
Writing sprint while I wait for my dentist appt. Parked at the intersection of some known hauntings: the ghost in the shop window, next to the old funeral parlor, the founderβs cemetery, the pacing Civil War soldier, near where the girl drowned in the wellβ¦ prime horror WIP real estate. #scriptsky
One of the joys of my life was running the Disney World Marathon. At one point the path went backstage at Hollywood Studios, and I got to touch the ship used in the movie! A definite burst of adrenaline to help me finish the race.
Celebrating the six year anniversary of the time the Universe screamed at me like I was in Field of Dreams.
And on this sixth anniversary, I actually received some good news that was another step forward for a big project⦠which cosmically puts all of this into a wonderful place. #scriptsky
Such a cool idea! Killer research.
And congrats on finishing your F it script. Feels empowering to wield absolute insanity on the page. Good luck with it!
Oh so true! Every script is a rather insane endeavor. I found I continually get notes about paceβ¦ Iβm guilty of loving stories that area slow burn. So Iβm writing that one story in my arsenal that felt like a shot of adrenaline to the heart from the start.
First page from my F it script. Went through my idea journal and looked for the biggest, boldest, brashest story.
Something where I can write like Iβm leading a punk rock rebellion with every scene.
Swinging for the fences with this one.
