I feel like younger people don't realize that the internet wasn't always optimized solely to make you as angry and miserable as possible, and people are having a lot of nostalgia for 2000s internet vibes now because it wasn't like that back then
@johngreensbluesky.bsky.social I think you may already know about this, but I thought this would be relevant to your interests: people.com/dr-pepper-fl...
BERNIE SANDERS: Do vaccines cause autism?
BHATTACHARYA: I do not believe that the measles vaccine causes autism
SANDERS: Nah. Uh uh. I didn't ask measles. Do vaccines cause autism?
BHATTACHARYA: I have not seen a study that suggests any single vaccine causes autism
Also, my hat off to you regarding the amazing work you, Lost in Cult, and @jacobgeller.com do on advancing videogames as an art form, through documenting design history, preserving art artifacts, and commentary.
@schillingc.bsky.social I just discovered Lost in Cult, and happily preordered the Cocoon Design Works Deluxe, and the 15 Years of Simogo.
Iβm really interested in the Immortality Design Works. It seems to have been available very recently: www.reddit.com/r/Immortalit... Any chance for an extra? ππΌ
This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
John decided to blend SwiftUI with Godot.
And it is quite fun:

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. Itβs a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. Weβve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.
Iβve been asked quite a lot over the years about how I remain calm when responding to trolls and bad actors. Some day Iβll do a bigger write up, but one of the biggest things that has helped me a lot is to remember:
βWhen youβre easily offended, youβre easily manipulated.β

π² Four Corners was rewritten in Swiftβit's the first Swift game in Catalog. Read our interview with the developer to find out how that came about:

The year I was born. we basically had no idea why cancers happened and now we understand the underlying force behind it with 100% clarity and the molecular forces behind it with many orders of magnitude more resolution.
We were entirely in the dark, and now the room is lit.
As a millennial there are two things I haven't heard about in a long while: The ozone layer, and second hand smoke.
I think it's good to remember those, and know that problems are solvable.
It just takes leadership to do so. If any leader tells you it's not possible, they're willingly incompetent.
βIn Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.β
It costs a lot less to house people.
That looks awesome! I donβt know much about photogrammetry, but Iβm curious, how do you capture the roofs? Drone footage?

This might be the best day of my life
Also, Iβd say Sam Lake/Remedy is another good example. Control feels very auteur-like.
The world would be a way better place if more people had this approach about harmless popular things that they personally do not enjoy.
I personally love most of his games, and I applaud your approach to this. ππΌ
I donβt get people who poo-poo on the things they donβt like as if it were a hill worth dying on.
There are plenty of things I donβt enjoy (like Soul-like games), but Iβm happy for the people that love and enjoy them.
Screenshot from a comment in a Discord server, the text reads βItβs so sad hardly anyone is making good point and click adventure games anymore. The Dig, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, these are all etched into my soul.
I see people saying this sort of thing often, and quite frankly it makes me sad. The truth is, more people are making good adventure games now than were ever made during the βgolden ageβ of the 90s. For example: π§΅
