A rapid increase in the cost of heating oil and red diesel would mean a βdouble whammyβ of harm to the rural economy, and to island communities in particular. The government must set out its response as soon as possible - which is why I have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer this afternoon.

If we'd never dream of letting the Palace of Westminster crumble, why are we risking the collapse of our own unique natural habitats?
Norfolk holds 10% of the world's rare chalk streams - living, breathing treasures found almost nowhere else on Earth π
Protecting them isn't optional.

Crypto investor based in Thailand donates further Β£3m to Reform
Christopher Harborneβs gift is latest to partyβs election war chest and comes amid calls for cap on political donations
Who the hell is this guy? And what does he want as a return on his Β£millions invested in Reform? Because it sure as shit isnβt a fairer, more progressive, equal and prosperous UK with good public services and well-regulated consumer protections.

Millions of families are already at breaking point. Now experts warn energy bills could jump by Β£500 thanks to Donald Trumpβs illegal war.
Today I asked the Prime Minister for a cast-iron guarantee that he will not let energy bills skyrocket again.
He didnβt give it.

Reform fury as someone else wins
by Our By-election Editor
Tim Shipsink
The losing candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election, Matt Goodwhinge, has demanded an immediate re-run of the election on the grounds that he lost
comprehensively to someone else.
"It's totally unfair and rigged,"
said Goodwhinge.
"I shouldn't
be required to sit there and suck it up, just because I lost."
Mr Goodwhine continued, *I can't believe that all those voters I demonised failed to back me.
Especially after I was endorsed by Tommy Robinson and ten million Russian bots on X.
"We have clear evidence of family voting, where people voted in order for me to stop deporting their families."
Mr Badloser concluded. "I'm the victim of colour prejudice.
They didn't vote for me simply because I'm not green."
Reform leader
Mr Farage,
speaking from a sun lounger on a rock near the Chagos Islands said,
"It's a tragedy that the people of Manchester won't see Matt in Westminster, but my constituents don't see me in Clacton either."

A UK-EU customs union would kickstart our economy, cut red tape and build ties with our reliable allies in the face of Trumpβs chaos.
Why is the Chancellor so opposed?

So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:
- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.

Trump sounds mad.
Proper nuts. But more than anything he sounds REALLY rattled as he rants and raves about Britain.
If Starmer sticks to his guns I suspect this will all play in his favour.

This is important. Reform keep taking positions that are only supported by the 25% of the electorate they already have and in doing so are negatively polarising everyone else against them.

π¨π¨ This is a symbolically good recognition by Labour of the damage #brexit has done to the UK economy and society. Nonetheless, these statements need to be backed up by more ambitious plans on how to restore the relationship with the EU. /1

Outrageous that Trump is trying to bully Britain into handing over more NHS cash to big US pharma.
Keir Starmer should put the NHS and the interests of British patients above his attempts to cosy up to Trump. Scrap this bad deal now!
