A pangram in the typeface alhambra, wherein a quick glance might suggest to a viewer that it was text in arabic, but read from the left it is jibberish which leads the viewer to the sense that one should try starting on the lefthand side and try to parse it as stylized english, which reveals that it says, "the five boxing wizards jump quickly". It is kind of simultaneously an infuriating and delightful tease.
The invitee of "Mooz-lum"(2010) was...the credits typeface (not quite Alhambra but similarly amusingly confusing.)
I could see the desired "varieties of religious experience" message the movie wanted to convey but it was also WILDLY overwrought and literally shrieky and i'unno. Needed a consultant.

My reflex response somehow led to a moment of realizing that I knew it was not yet Friday, but ...is it Wednesday and maybe I shouldn't have to do so many calculations to ascertain what day it actually is here.

Gilbert and Sullivan in Raiders of the Lost Ark
YouTube video by David Conrad
I was thinking about the oil wrestler last night and was reminded that Sallah from the Indianas Jones definitely led to some imprinting on robust and charming bearded rogues, always invited to breakfast, regal & secretly Welsh or not.
(Maybe the Elizondo of the year.)

Tan France Reviews Hasan's Outfits | Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj | Netflix
YouTube video by Netflix Is A Joke
Hasan Minhaj was invited last year, BUT *also* invite to Tan France! QE was fine, but I kinda wish that "Dressing Funny" persisted longer because: what a delight, exponentially amplified! They generally had versions of the energy of the below:

Two Panel Excerpt of The Good Place.
Eleanor and Tahani watch Deirdre and Margaret while bonding, leading to Eleanor to ask "What's this show called again?" and Tahani answering "It's 'Deirdre and Margaret.' It ran for 16 years on the BBC. They did nearly 30 episodes."
Hassan "Hass" Rahim from "Trigger Point" totes could come for breakfast. (A delightful surprise about a lot of these curious Peacock shows that I think were produced in the UK--making sense based on what I know of the BBC*--is these 6 episode series situations. Low stakes quick watches!)

The Good Place Messy Bench GIF
Alt: The Good Place's Eleanor Shelstrop high fives Michael in front of Chidi with the superimposed text "GIRL, YOU ARE A MESSY BENCH WHO LOVES DRAMA AND I AM INTO IT."
(I enjoy dramady, certainly.)
The EH&S and Radiation Safety Officer trainings of both me & my parents became obvious to anyone listening when on our call we joked about my aiming for ALARA* in reference to both the level of mess in my apartment and the amount of work I wanted to do to get there.

Alt: Doctor Bashir from ST:DS9, wearing a grey jacket and a green shirt with a star trek communicator on his chest, makes mouth farts, as it has been that kind of exhausting day.
I guess relatedly, even if it was only really discussed after the fact, Dr. Bashir from the Star Treks would totally also be invited to breakfast. His being low-key about most aspects of identity actually is maybe most familiar in terms of how I am, which is to say often/usually it doesn't come up.

Proper patreon support opens up access to several other categories of content on all the podcasts and music and thought technology and so and so forth where people are a little more candid. It's a nice lil' walled garden of a community, we have monthly zoom catchups, etc.

It's in the same vein as hue sorting (in this case, technically "Hugh sorting") but I often find myself making ordered lists of actors who look similar enough to at least play siblings (a list I cross-reference with previous fictional sibs, like Turturro-Shalhoub-Tucci.)

Breakfast Company: Another Peacock surprise: "Transplant", a Medical Drama centered on the breakfast invitee doctor, who bears a moderate resemblance to Alexander Siddig, who is called Dr. Bashir, though it's his first name.
ALSO in cast is John Hannah who looks and acts ~like Hugh Laurie on House!

I had extolled the virtues of Muhammad Ali on "Fight Night" on my unrelated Peacock catch-up binge thread, but for reals: that guy was so good, absolutely would invite his ghost to the nicest breakfast and the actor playing him would be okay too. The greatest!

I was so excited about Tony's bread show that I was dropping verbs. It happens.
Naya Temple on Counterpart can come to breakfast. I think she even passes the Riz Test!
Here's a fun story about Counterpart: I enjoyed it so much that I recommended it to my parents, FULLY FORGETTING the adult bits!

Pareidolia serves as a reminder I probably can go pick up my glasses (or move to Iceland where it might be less squinted at) but it was only the third time I looked at this that I recognized the soil was not a suit and the giant hand not gently lifting a gently angry business gnome.

Tony Shalhoub from "The Siege" was absolutely my guy because boy oh boy did I already love that guy. The movie was prescient but whatevs: he could come to breakfast despite it not being his deal.
He literally has his own show about breaking bread and make any za'atar coated foodstuffs he likes!

Watch Relay | Netflix
When a woman uncovers deadly biotech secrets, she turns to a secure accessibility service to reach a fixer known for helping whistleblowers in trouble.
(This feels rebellious in terms of my own rules but I'll allow it!)
Riz Ahmed's turn on "Relay" is maybe one of the more recent curious movies (wherein I believe his character does pass the Riz Test)!
Fixers! Espionage! Accessibility Systems!
(I enjoyed it.)

"The Undeclared War" was a curious surprise during my Peacock programming binge. Lotta that family would be welcome to breakfast!
BUT come for Simon Pegg, stay for the visual language for code review that's by parts Matrix:FreeGuy:Sherlock AND a grim look at 2024s sense of impending cyber-warfare.

Watch #1 HAPPY FAMILY USA - Season 1 | Prime Video
From creator Ramy Youssef comes #1 Happy Family USA, an adult-animated series following the maniacally upbeat Husseins - the most patriotic, most peaceful, and most definitely-not-suspicious Muslim family in post-9/11
#1 Happy Family USA's central fam would totes be invited to breakfast, as the show features versions of over half the families I grew up with from central Jersey weekend school.
I feel like it broke some ground in terms of animated representation despite many cartoons

Dembe from Blacklist could come to breakfast. (I was surprised he was not on the list last year, but my old boss had made the show recommendation probably in later Spring.)
The complications of loyalty and moral compass driven path divergences were explored well for a show that was gently bonkers.
