ESPN's broadcast of the Masters Par 3 Contest is really pushing the "family values" narrative to the point where it feels like weird propaganda.

"We have the smartest people, absolutely the best. Nobody has smarter people than we do. Everyone says it. Other countries, they look at us, they say, βWow, how do they have such smart people?β Because we do, the best, itβs unbelievable."
The first day of Spring calls for pics from Duke Gardens and a new wallpaper/Material You theme. Happy with how this turned out.
Happy First Day of Spring!
Man down...
Michael Scott had it so right a long time ago...
I had the first of two cataract removal/lens implant procedures about 24 hours ago. I'm 39. While I'm not Duke's youngest patient ever, I definitely have to be their youngest patient lately! Here's my still-dialated right eye (vs. regular left eye for comparison).
Loved our time in Bergen in December. Agreed, that view is just stunning. Amazing that you walked up there!
Nothin' but net...
News headline reads: "Missouri trans 'snitch form' down after people spammed it with the 'Bee Movie' script." Below, a photograph shows a large transgender pride flag being held up by a crowd of protesters in an outdoor setting, with various smaller flags and banners visible. A government building and a flagpole are in the background under a cloudy sky.
Resistance takes many forms.

A good reminder not put a person too high on a pedestal. I know Gaiman was a favorite for a LOT of people and that he could do no wrong...
The "pass" they usually get is starting to wear thin with people. The "Not first, but best" moniker does not apply to AI.

Our Norway vacation begins in Oslo. First, a trip to the Munch Museum to view "The Scream" and other amazing works. Then, a quick walk over to the Oslo Opera House, where you can walk right on top of it. Then, we took the metro out to Holmenkollen atop the ski jump with an amazing view of 0slo.
By far the best battery day I've had with my Pixel 9 Pro XL. Long day and still at 23% at 11:00 p.m.
Based on advice from my therapist, I started reading "Atomic Habits" and wow was it needed. I'm learning some great stuff so far.
Yeah! I can't believe it's taken this long, but it'll be fun to have it as another awesome thing At A Glance can do.
I think a neat and useful feature that's been around for a while is the "Pin live score" feature. Unobtrusive and also a little fun to bounce around the screen.
Currently doing a rewatch of "People Just Do Nothing." The dry mockumentary humor is absolutely top notch.
Anyone on here seen it before? #KuruptFM

For those with a Pixel 9 series: Use Gemini to analyze a wallpaper and ask it to write a prompt to recreate that wallpaper in Pixel Studio.
Sometimes it nails it, sometimes not. I've been rocking this recreation as my wallpaper lately.
At first I wasn't sure but...I kind of like this marketing strategy. It sends a clear message that Xbox is not just a console, it's also a platform.
For anyone on the fence:
After almost two months in, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is absolutely worth it.

β’ Google's core services accessible on any device, and via the web
β’ Specific to Pixel: Call Screen, Hold For Me, Spam Filtering, etc.
β’ Circle To Search is a fun game-changer
β’ Variety: sometimes you prioritize one or two things in a phone and don't want to spend $1K
β’ More choice for other devices. I can choose whatever device works best for me and know that all of the features will work with my phone. I don't like Apple deciding that for me
β’ Universal back gesture
β’ Gboard speech-to-text speed and accuracy
β’ Google's free 15GB storage vs. 5GB iCloud
I love this question! I'll give the same answer as I did on Threads a bit ago:
β’ I prefer Google's aesthetic
β’ Better notifications
β’ More options for default apps
β’ Ability to download apps not in Play Store
β’ Gemini
β’ Third-party accessories are cheaper (no MFi tax)
