A map of finance options available to creative businesses at different stages of growth presented as a semi circle with sources placed according to their type of finance. Text underneath provides a key to stages of growth and colour coding on the chart
No reason except not knowing too many of the target audience on Bluesky! Itβs a map of finance for creative businesses at different stages of growth
I like that the community itβs aimed at have taken on board the spirit of something that is a work in progress, so the feedback is constructive or just super enthusiastic. Credit to @tpximpact.com as itβs been in my head for 2 years and we needed a service designer to make it real (and better!)
In a win for working in the open, we published something last week that I didnβt want to shout about because it was βdraftβ (aka a prototype) but others picked it up, sharing it and the feedback inbox and itβs been reposted 69 times on LinkedIn with a lot of enthusiastic comments π¬
Bradford City of Culture has funded this 3 part podcast oral history of the 1 in 12 club and some refurb. I only went a handful of times, but the friendly community and bias for action helped me to put out records and put on gigs (plus making hummus for the bands!) homeofmetal.com/episode-1-at...

Unbelievable thing happened at our social yesterday where some
people stayed out till 1am! Maybe times are changing? I was - of course - tucked up in my hotel bed watching the ice skating at 9.30 and fast asleep moments later!
Great post. Reminds me of my pal Davie calling out people having more fun making a product than people are using it. Youβd think the market would correct that but it doesnβt work like that

5 female fronted bands youβve seen live
This isnβt hard for me. Hereβs 5 incredible bands you should (have) see(n)
War on Women
Bikini Kill
Discount / The Kills
The Muffs
Hole
Helps to like angry music though π
This was the perfect balance of useful insights that make you want to read the book without giving everything away π
Genuinely good idea π
That is helpful, thank you - I didnβt think of looking for starter packs on these sorts of things so I think that will help me to find other topics. For some reason (ermβ¦) insta is serving me a lot of decluttering atm so avoiding it, but I could click on a few more puppy reels to change that πΆ
Deliberately didnβt follow political journalists when I joined Bluesky for a more wholesome social media experience than I was getting on X, but somehow politics is all I see on my feed. I donβt want to avoid bad news and appreciate needing to talk about it, but would love tips on increasing variety
Funnily enough was looking at the post nominals wiki page this morning to decipher some of them. I did my apprenticeship with CMI so paying Β£60 gets me CMgr FCMI - not the catchiest though
Happy to share that there will be MORE funding and MORE support than ever before for highly innovative creative organisations looking to build their businesses and have an impact. Many details to work through but this is a clear statement of intent and framework for brilliance π Thanks @ukri.org !

A day off by the sea was just what I needed. Teddy enjoyed it too (and is now clean and dry)
A childrenβs book called The Coal House by Andrew Taylor with an illustrated cover of a dark spooky house with figure wearing a hat and gloves watching the house from a nearby tree. A label says βWhitbread category winnerβ
Great book rediscovered in the cupboard about a 13 year old who moves into a pit ownerβs house (on the cover, irl 3 homes nearby). When I arrived at secondary school I told my English teacher it was my favourite book. She loved it so much she ordered a full set and added it to the school curriculum
Iβm sure itβs a conundrum the designers have tried to crack but a squeezer bottle is probably less attractive for high end brands!
I find this particularly challenging with foundation bottles. I once asked someone at the Clinique desk at John Lewis whether there was a way to get the last bit out of the bottle and a rather posh woman asked if I was βfrom the northβ π
Ha! I wonder how many more Iβd have to eatβ¦
Clever work! Hopefully it will warm up by the time you have to return π
I heard it was minus 8 yesterday morning! Stay inside, keep warm π₯
I would definitely recommend π
