Many games are very high quality, but itβs not clear who they are made for. Who is the target audience? How big is the addressable market? Why would they play your game instead of the others?
Gameplay is one aspect, consider story, theme, artstyle, music, all of these can be unique selling points.
I just received my latest order from @bitmapbooks.com. The N64 and GBA were my favourite consoles growing up, with so many influential and industry-defining titles, too many to list here.
If you're interested in #retrogaming and #videogame history, I definitely recommend them.
I got a bunch of N-Gage games many years ago, I think for 2 euros each. This was part of the lot but I never tried it.
Late as usual, I finally played Astrobot. It's a great game, but it's so busy squeezing in every last bit of PS branding, down to the coins, it doesn't have any room left to develop its own world and personality, and just feels like a showcase. Hopefully the next one has a more balanced approach.

Silent Hill 2
Finished my first run of Silent Hill 2. Bloober Team absolutely nailed it, they surpassed even the most optimistic expectations.
It's an incredible remake, up there with RE2, RE4 and Dead Space. Respectful of the original, while adding new content that fits perfectly.
This year I had the pleasure to give talks at some great venues, including Unite, Games Ground, and Generation Colombia.
If you have a great event next year and need someone to talk about #gamedev, technical topics, career and entering the industry, hiring, or provide mentoring, hit me up!
